It may be more pleasant to the eye, but if it misrepresents the actual color....

Overall the problem is a rendering bug. Earlier I was trying to find sensor information about the x5 lens. Far as I can recall it is 50mp @ 1/2.52" type which means the discoloration is coming from a software problem we hope. Funny how all the review s24u never reported this problem.

They still apply some. Tried it with turned off and it is still bad.
As far as the reviewers, well, they were doing overal review as I see it. No one concentrated on the camera. And with such a phone where the camera is major point, its a miss. To me at least.

Completely get your point. And I agree with the freedom that the raw files provide. Yes, jpegs are for quick sharing and most people will not tweak them. They would rather use the auto-refining that Samsung provides. And that is also fine. But what I do not like is Samsung making decisions for everyone thinking that is the best for us. A shining example is the cr@p with the vivid mode of the display. Some bag at Samsung decided that is best and they needed an outcry to bring it back! WTH was that Samsung??! Leave the option and let people choose what they want and like. This is a major cameraphone that costs a lot, darn lot of money. They should bring their A-game from the get-go. Sure, lots of people will give them a pass, and I know I would too for some things, but for this phone, the camera is one thing I will not do that.

@Haytch something was bugging me tonight, so I looked at the meta for the two 12MP and 50MP pics of the hand cream and the tangerine. You know what? The same sensor was used to take the shots - the 200MP one! I am laughing my ***** now.. This is bloody ridiculous

Which brings the issue with Samsung not properly managing the sensors(cameras) in the S24U, possibly in the whole S24 line. I remember S21U had the same with the 10x zoom, where the Samsung camera app will not use the proper sensor and do a cr*ppy, awful digital zoom instead of the optical one.
