WhatsApp missed calls not showing on lockscreen/Whatsapp badge

Dear all,

For a few weeks now, out of the blue, whenever I miss a call on WhatsApp, I have the following issues:

1- The call does not show up on lock screen;

2- The WhatsApp icon doesn't show the the missed call badge and this can only be seen if you go into the app itself and look at the phone icon.

I have searched the web and tried everything possible: reset, reinstall the app, checked every possible item but nothing seems to work. Or better, it works for the first call, then for all subsequent others the issue persist.

All notifications/settings/app in background/etc. are set as they should be. My husband, who also has an S23, is having the same issue, as are some other friends with Androids. A friend with an iPhone had the same problem for a few days, but then it went away.

Can anyone help with this?

@kikkaikka: Please try heading to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Notifications > Notification types > Ensure 'Lock screen' and 'Badge' are enabled > Lock screen notifications > Show content.

Now, tap on 'Notification categories' and make sure that all options here are toggled on.

If the issue occurred on your friends iPhone, then this suggests that there is a wider problem with the app itself. If the issue was resolved then this may have been achieved via an update, therefore please head to the Google Play Store > Tap your profile in the top right > Manage apps and device > Updates, and check for an update for WhatsApp.

I have exactly the same problem for a couple of weeks now. I never changed anything in my settings on my S22+, so there's no point in playing around with the settings.

Weirdly enough, on my Samsung Tab S9+ it works perfectly fine, but I'm not checking that to see if I missed any calls.

I have no idea what the issue is, so I'd love some help as well!

Hello to all

Me and my family are having the same problem since couple of weeks. I have S23 Ultra and other members family having A34 and A35 . Sometimes missed calls are visible , but mostly not. If someone find out what is the problem, please write here so we can fix this.

Thanks, Andrew for your feedback. Unfortunately, I tried everything but nothing has worked so far. There might be a bug somewhere because there is no way to solve it for the time being and it looks like a lot of people experience the same issue. Again, all people I know with Android at the moment have the same issue. Once in a while it works but 99% of the times it doesn't and missed calls are not displayed nor shown in the badge but just when you open Whatsapp.

Keep on having the same issue and no solution. I am so surprised that so many people are facing this issue but no solution yet. Also, I don't get where the problem sits.

As you mentioned, also for me, once in a while it works but most of the time it doesn't. So annoying.

I'm having the same issue and have not found any solution. I reached to WhatsApp "contact us" and this the answer I got.
