Check the notification sound settings in the app are enabled as well as those on the system and in notifications1748084889329.jpg1748084889340.jpg

Ensure the settings are correct, can be slightly different for various apps as shown here  https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tips-how-to/how-do-i-personalise-app-notification-sounds-in-one-...

However if still not resolved    try Resetting the Network connections Settings-General Management-Reset-Reset All Settings. you could also clear the cache from the effected Apps. go to Apps-say whatsapp-storage and clear cache.

Sometimes can be conflict with 3rd party apps/theemes, if ok in safe Mode would pinpoint recent third Party apps which have been installed.  https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/

If no resolution try clearing the cache partition by following steps:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer , alternatively other Device or TV USB, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Hey, that sounds super annoying! Since calls work fine but message notifications don’t, here are a few things to check:

1. Make sure notification sounds are enabled for WhatsApp and your messaging app inside their app settings.

2. Double-check the phone’s App Notifications settings—sometimes sound gets blocked there.

3. Try clearing the cache of the affected apps.

4. Restart your phone after that.

5. If you use any battery saver or performance modes, try turning those off—they can block notifications.

If none of this works, try reinstalling WhatsApp or your messaging app as a last resort. Hope that helps!
