For the S21, S22 and S23 series, Samsung promised 5 years of software and security updates (4 year OneUI upgrades).

Oneui 7 is last for S21 series. In January 2026 my lovely S21 ultra will stop receiving Samsung security patches 😌

Oneui 8 will be last for S22 series.

Oneui 9 will be last for S23 series

Thr S23 comes with 4 years of software support and 5 years of security patch updates.
So Android 17 will be the last software update it will have
So yes it will get One UI 8

Who knows samsung might extend the support of the S21 series to other 1 year. Same how they have done to the S20 series

Hey! Yeah, the Galaxy S23 is supposed to get One UI 8 based on Android 16. Samsung’s been testing it and the beta should drop around late May or early June 2025.

Sometimes info gets confusing ‘cause Samsung rolls updates out in stages and hasn’t released the final version yet.

So just keep an eye on Samsung Members for the beta sign-up, and when the official update drops, you’ll get it via Software Update.

No worries, the S23 won’t be left out—it’s definitely on the list.

No,  S21 Ultra is coming to an end, although it is still a great phone. The S21 Ultra has already received an extension once, originally Samsung planned only 4 years support (3 years software and 4 years security) and he extended support for a year when the S22 series came out.

Maybe for Beta, Samsung will enable participation in the Beta worldwide, I just saw someone from Nigeria bragging about getting a Beta notification in the Samsung Members app.
