Hi everyone,

After updating my S23 to OneUI 7.0, I have the following issues:

- The phone sometimes becomes unresponsive (freezes)

- Before the update, the battery life was about 1 day and 10 hours, now it is about 18 hours, which is really bad.

- Some settings are very poorly positioned, such as YouTube premium when the screen is locked. What was the reason for moving the widget to the bottom?

- The search app is now at the bottom and cannot be removed. I never use it. I don't have 100 apps installed to use a search.

Personally, this update makes my phone a piece of junk. Samsung service doesn't want to help.

Hi! All of these have been covered extensively… have a gander at the forums.

Now—what do you mean sue? That was a tad funny to add.

*Lag—
-May need a simple soft reboot—hold the power button and volume down until the phone restarts.
-Next step would be to clear the cache partition.
-Make sure all apps are fully updated.

*Battery—it will recalibrate over the next couple of weeks after the update, and—
Reset battery—I'll attach a link later. https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s22-series/s22-one-ui-7-update-may-2025-killed-my-battery...
Look for the stars comment including dial *#9900#

*The apps being at the bottom is the Now bar, and you can't change this.

*The app search being at the bottom was moved by Google, not Samsung (Android).

A claim here using a launcher for the search bar if it bothered you that much

@Suzyn: Do you see any error messages or notifications prior to the phone turning off? If you head to Settings > Device care > Auto optimisation > Auto restart, are any of the options here enabled? If not, I recommend uninstalling any apps that you have added to the device prior to encountering the issue, as this will help to determine if the problem is stemming from an external source. You may also wish to try clearing the cache partition of the device to see if you notice an improvement.

1. Power off your device, and wait for your device to turn off completely

2. Plug-in a USB-C data cable connected to your PC

3. Press Volume Up + Power buttons together until you see the Samsung logo, then release. The device will boot into Recovery mode

4. Use the Volume Up and Down button to navigate through the menu, and the Power button to select & confirm an option

5. Navigate to 'Wipe cache partition' , select & confirm it, and follow the step it advises

6. Navigate to ‘Reboot system now’ and select it. Your device will reboot as normal.

If the problem persists, please head to samsung.com > Scroll to the bottom of the page > Contact us, and get in touch via your preferred contact method, and an advisor will be able to provide further support for your query.
