Hi

my phone installed the One UI8 update last night - now i am unable to unlock and access my phone.  I have tried a soft reset and putting it in safety mode and tried to shut down/restart it - the security pin is not being accepted and I cannot open the phone.  I have tried using the chat facility to get help all morning but i can't get pass the "bot".  Where can i go to get help with my phone please?

Are you able to enter Recovery Mode to clear cache partition (which is advisable affter updates) ,Reboot or Factory Reset.

https://www.wired.com/story/how-to-use-android-recovery-mode/

phone Number for support is 0333 000 0333 , other contact options shown here https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/contact/

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

I also encountered this issue on an A54 128GB after "ONE UI8" update. When you enter the correct pin, it waits a second or 2, and then it says, Incorrect pin.... The pin is accurate because when I enter an incorrect pin, it replies in a split second that it is incorrect.

At the end, a total hard reset to factory default is the only way you can get control back.
What a stupid bug with a lot of impact.

I know this late, but posting a working solution in case it will help someone else:

Ok so after few hours of googling and analysing risks, I found a solution to restore phone to working condition WITHOUT LOSING DATA:
You have to get ODIN and reflash your newest current firmware (with One UI 8.0) while using "HOME_CSC", this is important, I’ll explain:

  1. On Windows PC download "Odin" (latest version, e.g., v3.14.x or newer)

  2. Power off your phone, plug USB cable to PC and to phone, wait till charging battery logo appears. Now hold VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN until you see greenish screen with random text, press UP. Now you’re ready.

  3. On PC open ODIN, it will show at left top corner that device is connected on some COM port, that’s good.

  4. Go to https://samfw.com/ and in search type your phone’s part number, for example: SM-S911B, pick device from list, enter. Pick your region, now you look for newest firmware to download. Basically at very top. Download zip, extract it. You will see files like: CSC_OXMxxxxx.tar.md5, HOME_CSCxxxx.tar.md5, CPxxxx.tar.md5, APxxxx.tar.md5, BLxxxx.tar.md5.
Now in ODIN pick files in list by their names, AP to AP, BL to BL… etc. (USERDATA is not used)
BUT IN CSC pick "HOME_CSC" not CSC_OXM! This is important, by picking "HOME_CSC"
it will leave your precious photos and all data untouched and reflash only OS!
So to be clear, file CSC_OXM or just CSC won’t be used here, ignore it.

  5. Hit START and wait till it rewrites your OS, after phone restarts, disconnect USB cable. Your phone is fixed.

If these details are confusing, either don’t do it, or watch YouTube on how to use ODIN.
