Strange DNS issue 'I think'

Phone has worked fine since I got it at launch. 

Randomly stopped receiving emails to any email account. Every other feature worked fine. Tried to remove email account and re add but would not add the account. Would just hang after entering the details. 

Can access the email account via the outlook or Gmail website. But not via any other email app on phone. 

If I change the DNS from 8.8.8.8 to 0.0.0.0 it will sync emails and work for about 5 minutes before it stops again. If I change it back to 8.8.8.8 it works for 5 minutes again.

Also works fine on mobile data. No changes to wifi provider or anything. However have purchased an apple macbook the day I noticed the issue. Don't. Know if that is related.

Could you be more clearer? As I am confused? What email? What app? You making changes to the dns on your phone? So can get out to the Internet via WiFi just the specific app doesn't work?

Sorry I'm not clear what's happening myself.

The Samsung email app. The outlook email app nor the Gmail email app will work to receive emails. Going via the websites works.

When I go to my WiFi settings on phone I need to change IP settings to static then alter my dns between 8.8.8.8 and 0.0.0.0 before my phone will receive any emails.

All other devices in the house are having no issues.

@aldojimmy1985 if your using the Samsung eMail App then this can be occasionally glitchy. 

I have this when setting up my btinternet.com eMail. 

Eventually it should accept it.

Hi thanks for the welcome. The issue is over any email app I use. I.e. the samasung email app. The outlook email app and also the google Gmail app
