Updates not a thing for me.
Updates for Samsung and google are put on manual not auto.
We've all seen that some app udates have caused problems when you read users comments on the app page, so I tend to leave the updates, then every so often, when I've time, I'll go on either store, read through, and update well reported stable apps that I like.
Especially with google, some updates seem only beneficial to them, in sneaking in more privacy violating permissions, or taking away your previous ability to turn them off, whilst still having use of an app with its core functions.
My watch 4 is a perfect example of this, I now have to let googles operating system know about ALL the nearby devices round me, JUST TO TAKE MY pulse.
The only way to get the best battery life is to go through every setting and turn off what you don't regularly use.
Said it before, car parallel, air con, sun roof, wiper, cruise, heated seats, etc, you don't leave them ALL on, ALL of the time, and you don't grumble when you need to turn them on.
Our choice, but if you leave them on, ALL of the time, they will consume power, and fuel.
The phone will generally consume more power running more.
One brief example. You cannot read emails every minute of the day. Yet ordinary people leave their emails on auto, continually polling the server, but, you are still only going to read them when you can, so, put them on manual, then, when you are ready to have a look at your emails, ( Its when you would ANYWAY.) you pull down the screen with your finger, and bam, they are all there instantly in one poll açtion.
Just to encourage, my battery life is CURRENTLY, lol, fantastic. 🙂
