Expert Raw in 4:3 only?

What is the reason this mode doesn't give us the option to change to say 16:9 for Expert Raw. No big deal, just trying to understand as much I can.

I think it's because the camera sensor is 4:3
16:9 will be cropping in. So hence the 4:3
RAW will obviously capture all the information and so uses the whole sensor to do this.
Also think that 4:3 is a general standard format

I could be wrong, but I'm sure I read about this recently for a similar query
