Hallo everyone.
I wished to use better Samsung Messages than worse Google Messages but in Samsung Messages I can click on Chat Settings and tells me it is for free and then Chat Settings greyed out.
In Google Messages RCS works great - does Samsung preferm me to use Google apps?
My network - id mobile UK ans S23U and everything updated.

But Samsung Messages looks 10x better with true black background and other features and soon UI 6.1 AI features in this app.... which does not support RCS 😞
It is too crazy to kill this app and advertise AI features same time

I use Samsung messages.. I am not much of an rcs person but chat seems to be ON on mine.

I prefer Samsung for the keyboard customisation with keycafe and to use the avatars.

Don't understand why Samsung is pushing Google messages for.

Also you can use their AI with it as well.

As @GoanGeek has pointed out, the feature is still supported in Samsung Messages. We recommend turning off this feature within Google Messages and then enabling in Samsung Messages. Having it active in one messaging app can interfere with access in another.

Failing this, let's switch off your phone > Remove your SIM and give it a wipe > Power on your phone > Unlock the screen and allow to load up > Reinsert your SIM and give it 5 minutes > Try enabling Chat Settings in the Samsung Messages app once again.

With RCS Messaging being a network operated feature, if the option is still greyed out or it fails to register to your network's service, it's advised to contact your network provider for further investigation.

I did RCS disable in Google Messages too - no help and when you say I am on mercy of my Network Operator gives me fear this Samsung Messages will never work on my S23U because Google knows how to work out with my network Operator and Samsung does not.
Can Samsung do their job like Google Messages does?

So I've contacted iDmobile UK and they say they support BOTH Google and Samsung Messages RCS and I wonder why I unable to find Samsung Messages in Galaxy Store - has Samsung Messages been killed by Samsung?

Hi. Samsung messages should already be on your phone. Just search the phone or under Samsung folder.

Maybe block Google messages as I believe you can't uninstall it.
As I mentioned I use Samsung messages with lebara and no issues for me.

Another I do is I never restore apps or settings from backup after reset or when I get a new phone as it always messes up the apps. Always install apps as and when you want them.
