S23 Ultra - Connect to WiFi but no internet/constantly dropping out/Wifi6 issue

Anyone else seeing issues with Wifi6 on their S23 Ultra?

My phone will connect but then stop passing data until I disconnect and reconnect. The same SSID is fine on my S22 Ultra and all my other devices. I have tried to reset the network connections and all that, but keeps happening.

Changing to my 2.4Ghz SSID is fine, but a lot slower.

Are you talking about "Show Network Quality Information?" Because I don't see anything that says WiFi Quality Check In.

Yes, sorry for the misleading wording. That's the setting.

I reported this to Samsung and they have confirmed they are working on a fix. My router is Asus but they refer to TP Link. I guess they share similar hardware so I suspect its not specific to a single brand. Here is the reply from Samsung support.

We thank you for your patience while our experts looked at your Error report.
We're aware of this Wi-Fi connection problem on specific Wi-Fi AP with Galaxy S23 Ultra device. This is caused by a compatibility issue (confirmed occurring on some TPLink AP products). This symptom may appear in various ways such as no internet connection, slow speed or data disconnection. You can resolve the problem with a temporary workaround, and there will be a software release containing a fix. For now, head into Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > Tap settings on the connected Wi-Fi AP > Tap ‘Manage router’ > Log in with password on router setting page > ‘Wireless’ menu > Mode > Select ‘802.11a/n/ac mixed’ on the Mode menu > Check if it is selected with right one > Save the setting > Check after reconnecting the Wi-Fi AP. We'd also advise you to check for updates regularly: Settings > Software update > Download and install. Hit 'Ask again' to send us another message. ^BM

And yet it is also happening on Netgear WiFi 6 routers, and that workaround in the router hasn't helped 😞

Basically they are saying turn off ax mode until a fix comes out. I've turned off ax on my Asus router some time ago and I must admit I haven't had a problem since so It's obviously more brands than TP Link.

Hopefully the fix helps you when it eventually appears even though your problem seems slightly different to mine.

On Asus you can disable wifi 6 but keep on 160 MHz, then you will get more stable WiFi and exactly same speed

I've tried every work around setting change on my phone, and none of them help at all.  That's all Samsung propaganda to keep the plebs busy while they take too long to fix their problem 😂 Downgrading setting on my router might 'fix' it, but also impact 40+ devices with competent engineers that release working products.  Only thing I can really hope for is that the update is released sooner than later and it doesn't take ATT a million years to allow the update to be installed on my phone.

Disabled 802.11ax and connection is stable with small change in speed. It actually made some of my other IoT connections more stable as well. Laptops no different. Yes I do hope Samsung fixes this issue soon but practically there is no impact in performance by disabling wifi 6 except stable wifi.

I've got the S23 Ultra and my wife has got the 23, both of us are having issues. Router is an Asus WiFi 6. My Note 10+ and my wife's old S9 have never had this issue.

I finally caved and turned off 6/ax because I was tired of having to cycle my wifi every time I change rooms.  The big issue is, asking the average person to login and change that on their router isn't easy, and it's labeled differently and in different locations on each router.
