Anyone else seeing issues with Wifi6 on their S23 Ultra?

My phone will connect but then stop passing data until I disconnect and reconnect. The same SSID is fine on my S22 Ultra and all my other devices. I have tried to reset the network connections and all that, but keeps happening.

Changing to my 2.4Ghz SSID is fine, but a lot slower.

Update 5:

April 14th software update- good so far.

Update 4:

Going longer between freezes. Days to weeks now.  Just make sure all updates are done (playstore and galaxy store)

Update 3:

Bluetooth started losing connection as well.  The behavior of both wifi and Bluetooth similar to being "almost" out of range (Bluetooth started to crackle)   Resetting etc helps for a bit. Done all the troubleshooting,  going to exchange my phone.

Update 2:

Problems resurfaced and got progressively worse, especially on the 2.4 Ghz band.  I went back to my 10 year old Linksys router and now on the 3rd day with no problems.   I was told by Verizon the software patch to fix it supposed to be available on March 23rd.

Update:

had failed again, went into phones safe mode, failed after 8 hours.  Looked at router, TP-LINK ax11000, required a software update.  Now 24 hours without issue.  Will keep you posted!

Original message:

Just got my s23 ultra 4 days ago had mega issues with WIFI 6, on both 5Ghz and 2.4 Ghz, the latter exhibiting same problem after 3rd day.  Instead of disabling WIFI 6 on my router, or returning the phone as some had suggested, I contacted a Verizon tech to get some help.  After a long discussion,  I was convinced that it wasn't hardware,  1% of phones have wifi issues, and of those 95% are taken care of with some sort of reset.  Long story short, it usually is some communication/Mac address problem, can affect 1 devide yet not another.  I powered my router down, waited 30 seconds,  powered up. On the phone end, under intelligent settings, switch to mobile and switch to better wifi off. Under wifi>advanced settings>manage networks,  delete all, let the phone rediscover and connected to 5Ghz. Now running smoothly 3 hours, a new record,  keeping fingers crossed!

Tried all the basics and used fixed MAC, reset network etc. The only option that worked was disabling wifi 6. Many people are have this wifi 6 issue.

The march firmware update seem fix the issue. I updated today and connection is stable even with WiFi 6

Lucky you :smiling-face: My issues continued even after March update. Wifi 5 on 5Ghz is unusable, the phone disconnects freq. from the network with all the workarounds tried. The only solution for me now was to switch the phone to 2.4Ghz until Samsung decides to fix this mess.

Same here, everything is up to date yet the WiFi (5 in my case) connection is still playing up. Not good for a £200 phone, completely unacceptable for £1500 one.

Same issue here. My Note 20 see 700 download speed and 45 up but my S23 Ultra ATT phone sees 155/34 on the same network. Thinking of turning this S23 back in.

I have also Issues with my S23 Ultra. I am connected on Wifi 5 with 160Mhz Channel.

I usually get about 535Mbps on all my devices via Wifi 5 (on 80 MHz or 160Mhz Channel).

But my S23 Ultra is mostly not surpassing 500Mbps on Speedtests. And it is some times incosistent in Wifi Performance. The Speeds are mostly between 400-480Mbps. It seems like that the Phone is throttling the Speeds even though it‘s connected with 1,7 Gbps.

Anyone else faced this issue? Is there a Solution for this Issue? Thanks a lot :smiling-face:

I have problems ehn doing speed test with wifi analyzer on 6ghz.  Also randomly drops on 6.ghz.  but all.other devices stay conned that are in that wifi band.  Definitely seems to be exacerbated by some software interaction maybe in the samsung API.
