Just wondering if this is normal... I can take maybe 10 pictures and literally see my storage go down from 182.5 gb to 182.1/182.2 gb. This seems a awful lot? Especially considering my s8 was 7 years old and only had a total of 60 gb used out of 64 gb, and it had literally thousands of pictures on it, and i could take liada of pictures and not physically see the memory go down. How am I only a month in on this phone, I have less apps than the s8 but im using so much more storage. Also when i update a app from the playstore I can see my storagspace depleting. Out of 256gb i only have 182 left. I know the system takes up like 40gb, but still im concerned that at this rate I'll soon be struggling for space. Thank you in advance for your time and help.

Do take a look through your MyFiles section @Kirstyl0u to see if anything in there has accrued.

As @Tourbillon De La Vie suggests it can depend on what format the pictures are in.

Tech has advanced so photo's and videos can be stored in richer content and apps take up more space and need space for data and Cache Files.

Personally I use Dropbox.

Try clearing your System Partition Section Cache Files.

> Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files. There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

I can't easily clear my cache partitions as it doesn't work with headphones and I have no computer. It was done less than 2 weeks ago. It's it really necessary to do it again so soon? As how does that help work picture sizes?
