After the recent software update (One UI 8.0 with the 1st October 2025 security patch), my Galaxy S23 Ultra has started randomly switching between 5G, 4G, and even 3G — even when I’m stationary or on my regular daily commute. Because of this, mobile data has become almost unusable, and calls are frequently dropping or I lose the other person’s voice mid-conversation. What’s strange is that my wife uses the same mobile operator and network (on a Galaxy S25 Ultra) and her phone maintains a stable 5G connection throughout. We both live in Dubai, which has excellent 5G coverage — so it’s definitely not a network issue. This strongly points to a problem with the recent Samsung update. Hoping Samsung acknowledges and fixes this soon — it’s really affecting connectivity and daily usability.
