So, Samsung seem to have updated and broken, quickshare.
Before, I'd click on video files, click share, it would say UPLOADING, and I'd copy the link, send in an email and the files could be downloaded.

Now, when I click share, it comes up with 'scanning nearby', NOTHING about uploading.

If you click on the qr code, it says copy url BUT when you click to go on the link, there's NO option to download the files!

I'm using this to send video files to housing about ongoing asb issues.
They need to be able to download them!

White screen is my friend's Z-flip 3 that's still working same.
Black screen is what my S23 Ultra is now showing

Samsung, what are you doing?? You've broken something that was working fine

It opens in Quickshare on a target device that have quickshare installed because the link is a quickshare link, similar to when you open a file that is associated with a particular app. Other devices will open in a browser.

You are correct that you could have accessed the files you shared from the same device but I'm guessing that was changed because you technically don't need to.

Just seems like they've made it overly complicated when it was working fine before

Seems other people have clicked on the link with a Samsung Device and it's opened in their browser if you check above comments

It's a matter of perspective I guess. I can see how some may get confused especially if you are already used to it a certain way. They usually change things to make it more streamlined with less redundancies although not always positive.

I believe the user who had it opened in a browser has set those links to open in the browser by default. The option is given sometimes on first access or you can change certain behaviours manually.
