Quickshare

So, Samsung seem to have updated and broken, quickshare.

Before, I'd click on video files, click share, it would say UPLOADING, and I'd copy the link, send in an email and the files could be downloaded.

Now, when I click share, it comes up with 'scanning nearby', NOTHING about uploading.

If you click on the qr code, it says copy url BUT when you click to go on the link, there's NO option to download the files!

I'm using this to send video files to housing about ongoing asb issues. 

They need to be able to download them!

White screen is my friend's Z-flip 3 that's still working same. 

Black screen is what my S23 Ultra is now showing

Samsung, what are you doing?? You've broken something that was working fine

I think it only said download on yours when I clicked on the video and then the download option appeared underneath.

Yeah, download doesn't appear for me? Used to, so if I deleted from phone by mistake, I could download the shared file.

Quick share files by link were never meant to be downloaded. If they were in the past, this was unintended

What's the point of sharing something you can't download 🙄

The point was that you kept it without people copying it. That was the point. Don't really care if you believe it or not, but that's what I recall from when it was first introduced

Where does it say that? It says SHARE.
People used it to transfer files to a pc.
It allows you to SHARE, transfer, from phone to phone

Precisely, there's literally a million ways to share without it, why is it a deal now?

Because I use it.
If it's not a deal to you, then don't comment.
Fact is, it's supposed to work like Apple Drop.
That's how it was advertised.
It even says TRANSFER in the description.

If you look at the review on the bottom of the screenshot, not just me complaining it's not working how it used to

Yes between Samsung devices, which it does perfectly. The reason they even had QR codes and link share was for non Samsung devices

Yeah... so you could TRANFER to another device, mobile, tablet or pc via a browser.
You can't transfer if it doesn't offer download.
What is it about that you don't understand?
Is what the app was designed to do
