Telegram sharing bug

I'm very much enjoying my S23 - OneUI is so much better than it used to be, the phone is super fast and the battery life superb.

There's one annoying bug though sharing, rather than forwarding, within telegram

Steps to reproduce

Open an image or video in a Telegram chat
Hit the three dots to open menu
Hit the share icon
Select one of your contacts in telegram from the quickshare menu
The chat with that contact opens, but the photo/video is not shared.

This works as expected for all other apps like Whatsapp or Signal

I understand I can forward within telegram, but often I don't want the sharee to know where I got the picture being shared. You can't remove the original person's name when forwarding images and videos, only text. 

There is a workaround to share to telegram and select the contact(s) you wish to receive the image/video, but I shouldn't have to take that extra step

It's a oneUI bug. This facility works fine on my old OnePlus running Android 13

Seems to be working fine on S22+. Tried with both Telegram and Telegram X. Possibly, the app on the S23 series has a bug. Check if you see the same issue with the Telegram X app.

I'd never heard of telegram x, but I installed it and the sharing works great, so thanks for the tip

Only because eit works on another phoen doesn't mean it can't be a software bug. I would reach out to telegram and ask them for assistance
