OneUI 6: Where has Finder app gone?

I've just updated my Galaxy S23 Ultra to OneUI 6 but the incredibly useful Samsung Finder app has disappeared.

On older versions of the UI, it provided a deep search of the phone to find folders, contacts, apps etc and you could create a shortcut to it from the homescreen.

It seems it's now been replaced by the search bar in the apps drawer, which is nowhere near as good.

Anyone know if it's still there, hidden away?  Or a decent link to sideload it onto my phone?

Much agreed. Just got the UI 6 update and it's quite disappointing to not have the search icon in the notification panel anymore!

So after 30 mins of me standing still looking for this finder app in the gym I just got it. A simple swipe up from the bottom of my screen on the home screen pulled it up. Quite an improvement for me but it really needed to have been communicated in the update Tips!

Yeah great, but for those of us not using that launcher it's not there.

I actually just found it. Just swipe up from the home screen! Pretty convenient imo

Yeah but no auto pop up for keyboard and absolutely no use if you use a custom launcher that changes the apps screen, like Nova Launcher.

It forced me to learn more about total launcher and its built in search, so it's a win. If you are a geek, Total Launcher is the only way to roll. But there's a learning curve.

Total Launcher is great. I use Nova Launcher and you can create a shortcut to Finder.

That was a game changer for those who know how to use it. And it's not just about the Nova Launcher, I used it in the system links from the One UI itself, like in the quick links you have at the bottom of the lock screen. Searching right away for an app with the keyboard on is really all you need when you pick up the phone. Where's the petition to sign to have it back? Cmon, Samsung!

Use your Samsung Members app on your phone to report it as a fault. Samsung actually take notice of that and many many of us have already done this.

Seems they really thought not many people used it and didn't realise they had a rival to Universal Search, one of the iPhone's major features.
