One UI 6.1

Yesterday I downloaded update 6.1. My s23u turned unto piece of *****.

1) battery - draining like hell

2) heating - as never before

3) lagging - opening all apps, switching screens, never before , seems like a huge performance downgrade 

4) minor, but still, photos cannot be quickly "remastered", no remaster needed message pops up every time. 

Please don't tell me to clear cache nonsense, please tell me when exactly hotfix will be released and this stupid bugs will be fixed.

Wait 2 days then sell this peace of ***** and never buy anything samsung after.

Well that is up to you. I stayed with Samsung because they are generally well moded and feature packed. There are certain compromises I made but I tried other brands and I wasn't satisfied so I went back to Samsung.
Probably besides Samsung the only ones I'd chose are Apple and Pixel, but Samsung for me has the best camera features and the best software integration and the only brands I can compare to are the ones I mentioned here. Software shortcomings can be very annoying and for me Samsung was reliable and supportive through updates.
Up to you if you want to use a different brand though, user experience is very different.

Hi there, I know how you feel when you've done an update and the phone feels so much worse than before. But before you write the phone off, just remember how good it has been for you until now and how it can be resolved with some steps.

I would say definitely take the advise of the Good Guardians app and using the App Booster. Also, updating the One UI Home launcher really helped me, maybe it might help you too. Samsung One UI Home 15.1.03.55 APK Download by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. - APKMirror

Also, it's a cliche but restarting the phone, maybe a couple of times, after updating does resolve a lot of issues. It certainly did for me when I was about to chuck my phone against the wall a couple of updates ago! 

Your phone is still excellent, it's just had a hiccup that needs fixing.

No one is blaming you it's technology it always has its bad moments but just try the app, a system cache the final step factory reset but back up first, Hope you get it sorted like you said it's a top end phone

Yeah absolutely, I'm surprised that it hasn't been implemented as a default. So many people are not even aware of this app because of this.

Do Factory Reset and ZERO restore from backup - ZERO app installation - ZERO Settings change and..... You learn it is NOT S23 Ultra fault and NOT UI 6.1 fault.

I tried Google pixel 6 got bored of the pixel software so boring, Motorola just can't keep up with updates, redmi note 12 very good device but changed to hyper os, last one was a oneplus 8t very nice but here with a s23+ loving samsung again just waiting to see how android 15 turns out

Same here battery drain idle I put battery protection on basic amd bam 100 to 95% overnight I turn off data abd calls set routines

I use s23 regular

For anyone with these issues best to try the Troubleshooting mentioned in the first instance.  It may   not always  provide a solution but clearing the cache partition is recommended after updates and can helps with lags for instance and  Good Guardians can make a difference.  Sometimes still it is necessary to Factory Resetr after backing up.

if to no avail send an Error Report or consider your options.   There may be a Bug Fix at some point but nothing definitive on that (though one for Fingerprint issue is siad to be in the works)

Me to, and when you do a monthly update get notified to scan system to stop slow down.
