Yesterday I downloaded update 6.1. My s23u turned unto piece of *****.

1) battery - draining like hell

2) heating - as never before

3) lagging - opening all apps, switching screens, never before , seems like a huge performance downgrade

4) minor, but still, photos cannot be quickly "remastered", no remaster needed message pops up every time.

Please don't tell me to clear cache nonsense, please tell me when exactly hotfix will be released and this stupid bugs will be fixed.

Wait 2 days then sell this peace of ***** and never buy anything samsung after.

see my original post also if you had any side loaded apps double check if they ae doing anything

as per previous posters yes shut your device down leave it a litle while then restart it could be worth doing first then proceed to my other suggestions

suggest you go thru all your system options and check if it reset anything.

also if you have any 3rd party apps check to see if they are using a lot of CPU Memory Data etc. can be possible not entirely compatible

check whats using all the  CPU Memory Data and monitor

i have had this kind of thing happen on upgrades not just phones PC etc and once you isolate where the issue is you can hopefully fix

Have issues with Samsung S22 since last update of One UI. Phone overheating, constantly turning off and on, and freezing. Thought it issue with my Samsung phone which is now coming up to 2yrs old until I saw this thread, and have already ordered new S24 2 days ago. Now worried about updating the One UI to version 6.1 on that, which it is asking me to do, as it may corrupt my new phone. Any advice please, do i just not do the update? And why aren't Samsung fixing this considering all these issues. Always loved Samsung products but now wondering if should have picked different new phone!!

Try the suggestons I made above for the old phone.

check if you had any unusual apps or different settings. Sometimes 3rd party apps will load other apps onto your phone. check what is using all the resources. Sometimes updates resets your options. check those. have a look to see how much disk space you have if its low then backup some old photos or music.

you dont have to update straight away you can wait and see.

I put 6.1.1 on and its ok on the s23 but i trim a lot of excess options right down. have a look at your backup settings too. I just backup once a day and dont have things running in the background. keep it simple good luck
