Navigation bar block / One UI 6.1

I was so excited to get the One UI 6.1 update with all the new AI features, only to discover a giant navigation bar block atrocity at the bottom of my screen. 

I do not appreciate the bottom chunk on my screen being cut by this stupidity. What an ***** concept. 

I have scoured through the Internet and Samsung Members looking for a solution of how to get rid of it. I tried the goodlock as well. I have also contacted Samsung Support. None of the above had a solution. 

For reference i have an s23 ultra. Apparently s24 series has an option to hide it but not s23 series. 

Further, due to all of this screen rescaling everything lags and wobbles. The phone's response time slowed down considerably. 

These seem to be issues for the majority of people on here. I am therefore awaiting a further update fixing these, but most importantly getting rid of that ridiculous block at the bottom of my screen.

On an s23u on 6.1 ui

I love swipe navigation but I absolutely hate this update.

I'm not installing a third party app to solve an issue that should not be an issue.

Samsung broke this before in a previous update but did solve it eventually.

Further testing reveals I can't seem to activate the back button using swipe on my current settings. [See attached photos]

I have switched back to right side and enabled swipe gestures.

Hmm weird as it has worked for other s23U users. Which part is not specifically working for you? Maybe try uninstalling navstar/goodlock or checking if there is an update?

You need to enable the 3rd option on the screenshot you posted - "enable extra gesture settings". Then head back to your phone settings - navigation bar and select more options. You will then see the usual gesture options.

None of these suggestions worked for me. I still have the gesture suggestion and no matter what I do it's there and can't get rid of it. It reduces my screen side and that block makes the area not operational when made transparent with navstar. I know this is such a stupid thing but I'm actually quite distraught and at wits end at this point

Completely understand, I was the same when I installed the update and was very upset. Luckily the fix worked for me so want to help. Which part is not working for you exactly? Are your goodlock and nav star up to date?

Firstly, download Goodlock and then Navstar and enable extra gesture settings.

Then go to settings>display>navigation bar>more options

You will be able to select 'swipe from bottom' or 'swipe from sides and bottom'.

You can also toggle off the genture hint so that the line(s) disappear.
