I was so excited to get the One UI 6.1 update with all the new AI features, only to discover a giant navigation bar block atrocity at the bottom of my screen.

I do not appreciate the bottom chunk on my screen being cut by this stupidity. What an ***** concept.

I have scoured through the Internet and Samsung Members looking for a solution of how to get rid of it. I tried the goodlock as well. I have also contacted Samsung Support. None of the above had a solution.

For reference i have an s23 ultra. Apparently s24 series has an option to hide it but not s23 series.

Further, due to all of this screen rescaling everything lags and wobbles. The phone's response time slowed down considerably.

These seem to be issues for the majority of people on here. I am therefore awaiting a further update fixing these, but most importantly getting rid of that ridiculous block at the bottom of my screen.

Thanks @Mano5 ! This fixed it for me. I finally have no block and no gesture hint occupying the bottom of the screen.

Agreed. This is a horrendous update. S23 ultra as well, I've not been able to use my phone properly all day cos they messed up the Nav Bar. What a joke!!

I have an S23 Ultra, and all the solutions mentioned in this thread do not seem to be working in dual messenger apps or the secure folder. Using WhatsApp as an example, by virtue of NavStar the issue was fixed for the main copy of WhatsApp (i.e., the black bar is no longer present). However, the black bar is still present in both the dual messenger copy of WhatsApp and the secure folder version. It is possible that these copied apps cannot read the additional settings from NavStar. Moreover, Good Lock cannot be installed in the Secure Folder.

I suppose the only solution would be to wait for a system update from Samsung, if they are willing to fix the issue.

Just updated my S23U and the bar is extremely annoying! It takes up space and pushes the letters UP so your keyboard muscle memory gets screwed up. How is it a good solution to install 2 APPS in order to solve this?! A SIMPLE toggle would suffice.  HOW did this get out of beta SAMSUNG?

I swear with each update i am starting to regret my purchase of this phone which was 1100 euros!

This is an absolute joke Samsung. You should be ashamed of yourself. I've been a user for years and have sworn by Samsung products as opposed to Apple based on the fact with Samsung you have a CHOICE....well HAD.... well done Samsung you've finally made yourself like Apple. As of writing right now there is no fix to this issue to be able to use it as it were before the update (good lock, navstar etc no longer available) FIX IT SAMSUNG!!

This bar at the bottom is p*ssing me off as well. I came here to see if there is a way of removing it. It seems to have no benefit at all and just removes some of my screen size. Absolute joke.

This fixes the issue of the black bar at the bottom of the keyboard on my Fold5 everywhere except apps within the secure folder.

Any time I open the keyboard for  any app in the Secure Folder, the black bar is still there even after doing the ""enable extra gesture settings." fix.

Anyone know of a way to get rid of the black bar at the bottom of the keyboard for apps in the secure folder?
