Help, some app notifications silent all of a sudden

FIXED. Specifically YouTube and X. Never had this issue before. Checked settings, and each app setting individually, sound etc - everything as it was and should be. 

What I had done for the first time yestetday is download some custom notification sounds for the first time and changed the notification soune to one of them. That is the only thing I can think of that may have caused an issue. Went back to the default sound - issue persists. I was advised elsewhere to go into app settings and reset app preferences, then adjusted to my liking - still the issue persists. 

Has anyone had this issue that they can help me with please?

Might be worth going into Settings > Apps > Choose the App > Location > Clear Cache and if necessary Clear Data > Turn the phone Off and On and then see what happens @_Lee_

Have you tried this:
Go to settings, Notifications,App Notifications, X, Notification Categories, then scroll to Posts from people you follow (or whichever notification you want, THEN check the sound and vibration is on.

Each of those notification categories, even if turned on, need to be entered to check the correct sound or vibration setting is on.

Will clearing data mean all passwords etc? I've noticed the light/dark theme is set to device, yet stays in dark mode unless I manually change it in app. There's some sort of disconnect even though I get notifications, just no sound. Can't uninstall as it doesn't alloe properly on this phone(?) cleared cache. I'll try clearing data now as last resort.

Yeh I've double and triple checked these previously. All are on. So strange

Just had notifications following the above, didn't work for me I'm afraid. No idea what to do 😕

Update: Fixed

Had to go into Apps>(Specific app)>Notifications>NOTIFICATION CATEGORIES>And then set each type of notification to whatever sound as you wish - for some reason specific ones were on silent which caused my problem, even though the overall notifcations on the previous screen was set to alert 🤷🏻

It isn't vague as I explained my issue. It says fixed because I have commented how I managed to do it (the comment above yours).

Well, the issue was, if you press a category it simply toggles on and off. However, these toggles seem to have dual press option. I had to press and hold, quite long, then it goes to a new menu. There I noticed most to all options have been set to a silent audio file. Kinda weird.
