Start with clearing gallery app data and cache and wipe phone cache partition for good measure

I found a solution that worked for me after reading other posts. I deleted recent .HEIC image files (Apple photo format) that I downloaded. I didn't want to delete some of the photos so I did a tiny edit (like lighten it by 1 level), doing this enables a Save As JPEG button on the top right. After saving as JPEG, I deleted the original HEIC photos. Oddly, I only had to do this with some recent HEIC photos. Other tip, you can search the term HEIC in the gallery to find those trouble photos.

Hi, I'm experiencing an issue after updating to One UI 7. When I save pictures to my gallery, they no longer appear at the top based on the most recent timestamp, like they used to.

Yes, the issue came back after I thought it went away following the deletion of the HEIC files. Bummer
