If you are seeing this issue - where the phone seems to freeze for a few seconds when switching apps - then this is a fix:

Google how to unlock developer options on the phone, do this and then enter the dev options.

Go down to the "drawing" section and check the window animation scale / transition animation scale / animator duration scale options: these should be set at 1x

If they are at 0.5x - which a lot seem to be, as it gives smoother animations and transitions - then switch them all back to 1x and it should fix the issue.

This has fixed the issue for many of us.

You can also manually clear the cache on your apps and wipe the cache partition on the phone to fix minor issues.

yes changing the animation scale  may help ,need to go to Settings-About phone-Tap software information and tap Build number 7 times. see more here https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-turn-on-the-developer-options-menu-on-my-...

Whilst changing the animation scale is fairly straightforward not everyone feels  comfortable with Developer options  and some settings should not be changed.

Regarless sometimes it is necessary to clear the cache partition.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer , other Device or TV USB, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.
