Hello everyone,

I have been experiencing an issue with my S23 Ultra's battery draining very quickly. I have already tried all the standard solutions to fix the problem, but nothing seems to work. I haven't downloaded any new apps or changed anything else before noticing this issue. Some days, I can barely get 5 or 6 hours of battery life, but today, it's draining at an alarming rate of 1 percent every 2 or 3 minutes. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem?

Thank you.

Yeah, I have been having the same problem and lots of other people in this forum have been saying it as well.

Hi there, @H3S3G. It's important that you get the great battery life we'd expect from the S23 Ultra. You mentioned that you have been through an array of steps already.

Please can you elaborate on how long you've been experiencing this unusual battery drain and which specific steps you've followed?

In no particular order, here are some solutions I have tried:

- Restarting my device
- Optimizing memory usage
- Installing the latest updates
- Maintaining consistent charging cycles
- Enabling battery protection features
- Optimizing device care settings
- Clearing memory
- Deleting unused apps
- Closing unnecessary tabs
- Reducing phone usage
- Using a light performance mode
- Enabling battery saver mode

Unfortunately, none of these solutions, except for battery saver mode, have had a significant impact on my phone's battery life. Even with battery saver mode enabled, the battery life is still noticeably shorter compared to what it was before these issues started without battery saver.

Thanks for confirming this. I'd recommend allowing the phone to drop below 50% from a full charge, and attaching a screenshot of the Usage.

To find this, head to Settings > Battery > Since last full charge > Click on the graph > Please capture a screenshot of the usage (e.g. the apps using your battery).

This is from the 6th of June, I was barely using my phone (the screen on time is always wrong but even if I had 5 hours of screen on time, that's still awful to say I don't do any intensive tasks on my phone and certainly didn't that day) 1717862458476.jpg

Ah, I see. Do you happen to have the screenshot that shows the specific apps which are contributing to the battery life being consumed?

The screenshot that you've provided shows that (certainly on June 6th) it's nearly 5 hrs of Screen on time, and 2 and a half hours of Screen off time, but the "Since last charge" breakdown will likely give a better indication of what's consuming the most battery.

Hi, here's the since last charge, I had to quickly top up because I'm currently out at the minute but my phone is already (from when I took that screenshot) on 24% 1717868075890.jpg

I appreciate you sharing this. Some apps like Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram run in the background and use more battery than other apps. I can see that TikTok is clearly using a significantly high amount of battery on your phone.

Have you tried putting the app to sleep to see if that helps (which I suspect it will)?

There's a handy guide (from Samsung US) about this:

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00088422/

Please let me know whether it helps.

Hi, tiktok isn't able to run background processes, I've turned it off in the app settings but still, even with tiktok using under 20 percent how does my battery then drain to 32%
