Thanks to MsD666. This solution seems to be working, i havent had any issues for the last few days with replying to emails. Please follow the steps below.

"This worked for me. Once you find android system webmail - uninstall updates. Then go into settings>apps>email>app details in store> three dots on top right corner>untick 'auto update' Hope that helps anyone. Its been driving me nuts too!"

Unfortunately the fix wE thought we had below stops working and goes back to the same issues again. I encourage everyone to contact Samsung and direct them to this post, hopefully with enough complaints they will actually fix it.

EDIT PROBLEM NOW FIXED THANKS TO SAMUEL953 (SEE HIS POST IN THE COMMENTS.) And here's a copy.

'think I have a fix... Go into Settings, Apps, click on the sort icon and enable "Show system apps". Search for "Android System Webview". When you find the app in the list, click on it and then click on Storage. There you can clear cache and clear data. You may also be able to click on the three dots and also uninstall updates to reset it to factory. Once you've done this restart the phone and the email scroll problem should be resolved. Worked for me.'

So over the last couple of weeks while using the Samsung email app, I'm having issues with what feels like some type of scroll lock.

I can open the app, select which email account I want to read, and can scroll with zero issues, but as soon as I try to reply to an email or compose an email it won't allow me to scroll down the screen.

I've included a screen recording of whats happening, as it will make more sense. Dont worry this is just a spam mail that isnt even using my correct email haha.

Now this happens no matter if its Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail. 

Am I missing a setting somewhere that switches on some weird scroll lock? I'm just using the standard settings, and havent changed anything.

I have the latest updates and software of one UI8, but ut was also doing this before I updated.

This worked to fix my email scroll....but the Android System Webview app DISAPPEARED after I clicked on "uninstall updates". And now web pictures are not appearing on my email. Should I reinstall the app from Google Play, and if so, which one? There are 3 of them...all by Google. Maybe the one ending with Dev?

Isn't this dangerous as the updates were made for some reason - e.g. security? Both our phones are now affected - any idea when the software will be fixed properly?

I thought the same thing....though I don't know to what extent that app is vulnerable. An earlier post said Samsung would fix the scroll issue shortly. Who knows.

You then also need to disable automatic system updates ( in Settings, Google, All Services, Svstem Services) to prevent the Webview app re-updating.

There is no option to be able to disable automatic system updates in there on my S21, can I ask where you found the option?

You are correct as it has returned to original non scrolling already!

Indeed, it's driving me up the wall, let alone having a big effect on my ability to do business from my phone.

Samsung, we need a fix NOW.

💯 its a nightmare can treply to emails as you cant go over what was written!

I did not find an option to disable auto updates but somehow the whole Webbiew app disappeared from my list. I only hit the stop auto updates. It's three days on now and scrolling is still working. I can't find anything else wrong except on each email the pictures are not uploading and I have to hit download pictures.
