So I've gone from an s21 ultra to a fold 4 to a s23 ultra.

The camera on the s23 ultra 200mp and 50mp and auto 4:3 are all worse by a substantial amount compared to the s21 ultra. So much so I have had to grab my wife's iPhone 14 pro max to compare. I hate iphone with a passion. Pictures were always so much better . But now her iphone is a lot better than the s23 ultra camera.

Is this a software/processing issue that will be fixed in an update. Its do much of a downgrade I'm close to switching to apple, don't make me switch tell me a fix is coming.

Apart from the disappointment of the camera's the phone is amazing fast fluid handles anything you throw at it, dex works seamlessly. Outstanding work samsung.

Just fix the camera.

Agreed, recently bought the standard S23 after a long time refusing to upgrade from the excellent S10e.

Great phone but disappointed with the camera especially in terms of landscape shots at the moment in comparison to even the 10e. I've experimented with multiple settings and still getting blurry images.

I so agree. I moved from a Galaxy Note 8 to the S23 Ultra & the NOTE 8's camera was better than this. I'm gutted. 😞

The new update has just dropped in the UK so I'm hopeful the camera fixes will make a difference.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good camera, video is excellent and got some good close ups but the image sharpness and colour just weren't matching up to my much loved S10e

50Mp, clean lenses, camera clamped on sturdy tripod, etc, look at the buildings and boats, like a bad watercolor painting, nothing like a 50Mp detailed photo. I've reported the problem (happens with all photos, all settings, all resolutions, including pro and raw) to Samsung and their experts are looking into it. Can't fault their accessibility and speed of response. 20230403_141237_1000002966_1680527637.jpg

Totally agree with you. And it's NOT subjective at all as some have said. It is a very poor camera,or rather poor quality photos. My 12mp lense in my s23 ultra is the best photos I get. Such a shame,I am also a life long samsung user.

I agree. I've tried repeatedly with the camera to get good clear photos and they are shocking! What was supposed to be a great camera is worse than my s21 FE and that camera wasn't exactly great. I take a photo about 2 meters back, slightly zoom into the photo and it's blurry, edges are over sharpened and the noise is terrible. I went out to the beach with a friend who has an s22 and the quality of the photos she got ran circles around the s23 ultra. I wondered if the camera was faulty until I googled it and saw the amount of people who are saying the same. It's not good enough on a phone that costs what it does.

I agree 100 percent.  The indoor camera quality on all the Samsung phones I've had isn't good. I've had the Note 20U, S21U, S22U, S23U, S24U.  Photos are muddy, not sharp and lack any detail.  The only way to have any detail is to use night mode but then if you move or you're shooting anything that moves AT ALL it's a blurry mess.  When using the telephoto lens outdoors and zooming in past 20x the photos have this blur around the subject.  My friend who has an S21 Ultra has the same issue. I currently have both the S25U and P9 Pro Fold and the P9 Pro Fold blows the S25U out of the water on indoor photos.   It really isn't even close.
