After having read several reviews mentioning the improvement in sound quality of the S23 Ultra speaker over the S22 Ultra, it's been very disappointing to hear it for real. So much so, I'm wondering if my handset is faulty.
The default sound is boomy, hollow sounding and lacking much in the way of mid-range and detail. Overall, it sounds very artificial and processed. Even playing around with the equaliser doesn't seem to improve it much.
Are other people experiencing this? Should I request an exchange?

Hi @Maxvax

Can I ask you to run the diagnostic tool in your Samsung Members app to see if anything shows in regards to the speakers.

If after testing the speakers you still think there's an issue with them then do look at any relevant Cooling Off Period offered to have the handset replaced.

Would you let us know how you get on please.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

@Maxvax: I'm sorry to hear that the sound quality of the Galaxy S23 Ultra hasn't met your expectations. Is the problem persistent across all applications/media? Further to the above, if you have already tried the various Equaliser options in Settings > Sounds and vibration > Sound quality and effects, then please tap on 'Adapt sound' and run through the calibration process to see if you're able to adjust the sound to your preference.

All media. 'Adapt sound' is for headphones only which isn't relevant to the speaker

The diagnostic tool just says the speakers work. It's after the cooling off period
