One UI 7 - Missing bluetooth icon (and others)

When you connect your bluetooth earphones/headphones, you want to know whether they are connected to prevent accidental playback of audio out loud.

It used to be easy to glance at the top of the screen to see this information with the bluetooth icon. Now I have to swipe down to the quick access menu to see if it is connected.

Sometimes I accidentally leave bluetooth on after putting my earphones or headphones away. Now there's no icon to remind me that it is still enabled, wasting battery.

If I forget to set my alarm for the next morning, the absence of the alarm clock symbol would remind me. Now there is no symbol for when the alarm is enabled.

QuickStar used to allow these icons to be customised. Sadly this app no longer functions properly when trying to enable some icons including bluetooth.

What motivation could Samsung possibly have for preventing these icons from being re-enabled in the QuickStar app, even if they decided to disable them by default for aesthetics and ergonomics?

Please, please allow all icons to be customised in the QuickStar app if nothing else.

Furthermore, a similar issue occured where secure folder notifications started appearing after the older One UI 6 update stating that the folder is locked, in essence giving any thief or unauthorised persons knowledge of both the folders' existence and the fact is it being used, even when the "hide secure folder" is enabled, which is designed to make the folder hidden or discreet. This notification at startup will not swipe away unless the folder is unlocked, defeating the purpose of the discreteness of it.

I raised this issue with Samsung last year, but of course nothing has been done about it. I don't hold up much hope for these One UI 7 changes becoming customisable as they were in One UI 6. Not to mention the new location of the app menu search bar at the bottom which is not changeable, and the music player at the bottom of the lock screen which is much smaller than it used to be.

Quick star works, assuming you've updated to latest app. Secure folder is non issue even then. And does not occur any longer

You say quick star works. It is fully up to date but despite enabling the bluetooth icon, as you can see in my screenshot there is no bluetooth icon along the top unless in the quickaccess menu, so you're wrong about that. Regarding the secure folder issue no longer occurs, but mine does. Am I the odd one out? I've included that screenshot too to prove that it still hasn't been fixed.1747495644296.jpg1747495644338.jpg1747496219059.jpg

QuickStar works and icons can be enabled/disabled where they are now in quick access menu. Secure folder does not appear on mine

You say quickstar works for bluetooth icons. I've just literally proven to you in the screenshots above that enabling the bluetooth icon does not cause the bluetooth icon at the top of the screen to be displayed when bluetooth is connected or enabled. It only shows when you swipe down to the quick settings. Conclusion: quickstar does not work in this case, as the same for the wifi calling and alarm icons. You say the secure folder does not appear on yours. Do you use secure folder? If you have never used it then the notification will not display. My point is that the notification provides anyone examining your phone (such as a thief, curious family members or a nosy customs officer) can see clearly that you have stuff in the secure folder because of this notification, when the secure folder is designed to be discreet because there is an option to make it disappear from the apps list. As for the icons, try the bluetooth yourself. Go connect some bluetooth headphones/speakers, and try and see if you're connected by looking near the clock (without swiping down to the quick access settings or notifications tray). It's frustrating because to verify that you've connected successfully or to check if bluetooth is on or off you'll have to go to the quick settings which is inconvenient. Why bother keeping the wifi symbol there but not the bluetooth?

I'm happy with how the icons are displayed under ui7. And QuickStar

Doesn't decrypting the secure folder on startup also defeat the object of a "secure" folder? You say you're happy that quickstar works. Not sure whether this a device specific issue? Or either that or you simply aren't grasping what I'm saying.

No, it does not. I'm confident it will stand against any potential adversary

Everything else is self explanatory

What you're saying makes no sense. Are you actually reading what I'm saying? I've posted on here for someone to give me a solution to a problem, not for someone who does not get paid or work for Samsung to say something works when I've just provided proof that it does not. Maybe you don't have bluetooth earphones or headphones and this particular loss of icons doesn't affect you and that's fine. I'm not sure what you mean by "I'm confident it will stand against any potential adversary" and "everything else is self explanatory", are you translating from a different language?
