Hmm maybe this is causing the perf issues seen by some folks? Ive not noticed any issues on mine, if it stops rogue apps from draining my battery and I don't even notice the performance difference then surely its doing what it's intending to do? I would prefer to be given the choice which apps are throttled though!
The Game Optimizing Service seemingly does this to preserve battery life, but it can’t be disabled, and sneakily it doesn’t affect benchmarking apps – so they’ll report higher performance than you’re actually likely to get ....Shame on Samsung
According to the Verge article a software update will return control to users,quoting Samsung representative Kelly Yeo " Our priority is to deliver the best mobile experience for consumers,” said Yeo. “The Game Optimizing Service (GOS) has been designed to help game apps achieve a [sic] great performance while managing device temperature effectively. GOS does not manage the performance of non-gaming apps.”
