I have this problem too

I have had my S22 Ultra for a few Months now which is riddled glitches, some more problematic than others. I was really exited when I ordered the custom phone from Samsung for around 1.5k I had 1tb of memory and a nice gray colour and also got a bonus on top of my trade in.

My old phone was an S22+ just under a year old and after I sent it in a 3rd party company sent me a demand for £75 towards my upgrade as they said it gad screen burn despite being barely a year old. However as my S22+ was a good phone I figured an upgrade to an S22 Ultra would be a step up and the built in 1tb would avoid app memory availability issues when using an SD card

When the phone is working OK its great when glitches kick in its a real pain and often renders the phone useless e.g when Microsoft apps fail to load or network issues calls constantly dropping etc

I would not recommend anyone who relies on their phone to get an S22 Ultra and my experience with this leads me to be wary of any new releases from Samsung until they have been release for sufficient time for Samsung to resolve the bugs in their devices. Probably around a year or so

If I had the time to produce and send all of the bug reports to Samsung it would be like a full time job doing what Samsung should do before releasing new devices.

The worst problem is Network and Conbectivity issues, which include

Calls dropping despite there veing a strong signal
Wifi dropping in apps despite there being a full signal or WiFi connected but no Internet
Signal dropping for no reason, most noticeable when streaming I.e constant black spots of silence and spinning circle trying to reconnect
Apps crashing or disappearing from screen
Dead links on Web pages
MS Office apps crashing or failing to load
Occasional crashes I e phone seems to get overloaded and freezes, goes blank and then comes back on
Occasional cogs when restarting saying optimising apps or says phone didn't shut down properly

There are other Occasional issues that I can't quite remember but on the whole it is not a very stable phone and certainly not worthy of the price tag and title of a flagship phone

I have come to the conclusion that the bulk of the problems are linked to the phones inability to maintain a strong network connection as this not only drops calls and connections etc but it is a main cause for office apps crashing or failing to load I e if Internet drops, many apps crash or freeze

I also think the inferior processor used in EU phones has a part to play as the Snapdraggon whilst does have its issues, it is more stable than the Exynos or whatever its called? I believe Samsung may be dropping this inferior chip in future releases?

I'm not sure if the next update to Android 13 will improve things but doubt it, I believe the Google Pixel phones have had this for a while but not released by Samsung yet I think it will need a firmware update once Samsung can identify what's casing problems or maybe vendors linked Microsoft might find a workaround for their apps

So in conclusion, I have had Samsung devices for many years from TVs RAM SSDs etc and always find Samsung to be a better brand but my experience with Samsung Mobiles leaves a lot to be desired and this S22 Ultra has been one of the most expensive yet the worst experience to date

Hopefully Samsung will put a bit more effort into resolving the issues rather than relying on temp fixes such as users having to perform many resets, restarts clear this clear that bla bla bla and us as consumers can use our equipment with the bug testing and fixes already sorted before releasing expensive products to market

Safe mode is not there to identify issues with third party apps.. safe mode works exactly like Windows safe mode. It disables all 3rd party apps so you can determine if its hardware or firmware related. That's the idea of safe mode. It only let's things run that is required so you can rule out hardware or firmware issues. If you suspect its a 3rd party app factory reset or uninstall all 3rd party apps then reinstall them one at a time until the issues return. Once the issue returns uninstall the last app then the issues will disappear again. What you have is a incompatible 3rd party app on your s22 ultra.

I don't think you understand how IT works I.e the firmware could indeed be fine if you don't run anything but when you try to run software it crashes. Both the software and the firmware could have no errors or problems in themselves but not run together. E.g Microsoft Office runs perfectly on older models that have older firmware and hardware and runs perfectly on othe brands etc with different firmware but on this phone either the processor networks chip or firmware is clashing with Office and other apps. So the firmware may be fine but is not up to the job in its current form. This is why manufacturers release regular firmware updates as developers find solutions to problems and make the device continue to function as well as cope with future apps and functions etc. App developers also release app updates for the same reason. If firmware was perfect there would never be any firmware updates on phones. It's the nature of IT across all devices and software

A 1 tb galaxy s22 ultra is not custom made nor is the color you chose. You had to wait a while the same as everyone else. The shop who told you the color and 1 tb storage strung you a load of lies just because they had to wait for them to come into stock. Sansung do not make custom phones unless you spend big big money. If you didn't pay double or triple the price of your s22 ultra its not custom made. To get a custom made s22 ultra it will cost upwards of $2500.Screenshot_20220820-125900_Samsung Internet Beta.jpg

You can't buy my version in any shops or from anywhere other than Samsung directly. As far as I'm aware the 1tb version is no longer available even from Samsung. I'm happy for you to call it whatever you like, custom? Online Exclusive? Or non standard etc they can't be ordered off the shelf they are made to order. I bought mine directly from Samsung and they made it just for me and there is an extra wait for custom orders another 4 weeks or so, think the colour is Graphite which you don't pay a premium for and the max 1tb which cost a lot extra. They are not available in any shops unless of course someone has traded one in and they are 2nd hand.

It is apps that crash when the network drops such as Microsoft Office apps etc.

You should stop that aggressive language and accusing other posters of lying. The phone might not be custom-made to every detail but it definitively it involves customisation of storage and colour which are exclusive to Samsung.com.

No customisation of storage. You can literally go to any store that sells phones and walk out the shop the same day within 1 houre with a 1tb galaxy s22 ultra. Screenshot_20220821-174408_Samsung Internet Beta.jpg

MS Office apps and some Samsung apps etc are compatible with The S22 and other phone models. What happens is they freeze or Crash when the network drops. On the S22 a common reported problem is constant connection failures during calls etc. This is either due to a firmware or hardware problem. If it was a one off on my phone you could reasonably assume its a hardware problem on my phone but as the problem is so widespread across a lot of similar devices it indicates a firmware issue I.e written with flaws. These can be fixed in a future update to allow compatible apps to run reliably. I have reset my network settings several times (which also involves a trip into town to the network providers shop to re add my esim), wiped the cache individually for offending apps completely removed them and reinstalled them several times from both Galaxy app store and Google play store to no avail the problems persist. No amount of factory resets will fix firmware that isn't up to the job, only when a developer realises what's causing the problem and writes new firmware will it be fixed via a firmware update. Your right that it's easier on a pc e.g I could disable the onboard NIC and put in a better one that would work, but that's not possible on a mobile phone.

I do not know what you are trying to prove with that picture. It is clearly from www.samsung.com and on the 1TB/12GB clearly states “Only at Samsung”. So, you cannot go to any shop and walk away with 1TB storage S22 Ultra. Are you lying? Is Samsung lying? Or are you missing Samsung’s own information?

According to Samsung’s website, the 1TB on any colour is only exclusive to Samsung. In addition, the graphite, sky blue and red colours on any storage are also exclusive to Samsung.com and they require special production.

By definition, any 1TB and/or any of the three exclusive colours are custom-made on storage and/or colour. In the exclusive colours the s-pen also matches the colour of the phone, which is another customisation.

But not any more. I can go to my provider and get a 1tb s22 ultra from them.. They had 30 in stock when I upgraded from my s10 to s22. I didn't chose the s22 ultra 1tb because it was way to big. But it was a 1tb s22 ultra was in stock ready to go. So no a 1tb s22 ultra is not custom and freely avaliable. That says only avaliable at samsung.com because its a sansung website. Look at the price its cheaper than getting it from the shop. Hence the price you pay makes it only avaliable at samsung.com. go into a shop and buy it its a bit more expensive. Online prices are cheaper than shops.
