are you able to tell me why when I receive a message which contains a phone number, I cannot all that number directly from the message? ie you have a voicemail please call 101. On old Samsung phone I could tap the 101 and it would call, same if someone sent a message saying please call such and such on 0415 xxx xxx - just tapped and it called but not on my S23. Any advice?

One thing the Google messaging app does not do, is allow you to send a group message and get individual replies. So I had to do the Samsung app to get that done. That's the one with the three dots. I'm getting used to it but I've been using the Google messaging app for years but can't get individual replies when sending a group message. Otherwise I would use Google

Though I think there are technical reasons the Samsung message app may be better than the Google message app, I have actually changed from using the Samsung app to the Google app. This is because my new boss has a tendency to use messages to phones for communications at our company rather than sticking to emails. I found I was missing his messages because when I am on my computer I am not looking at my phone. But I found out that you can get Google Messages for the Web on your laptop and it syncs to the Google messages app on the phone. So I open that on the browser and can respond to messages on my laptop when they pop in rather than rely on looking at the phone all the time.

Thank you, I am still confused though. I switched to Google messages, but the group text feature seems 'off'. If a new member is added or forwarded, it creates a new group, instead of adding the new person to the original text. It seems annoying to the people receiving it as it appears I am just creating new groups. I also cannot tell who is reading the messages. Can anyone help?

Messages app with the solid bubble was the replacement I got when the wonderful Message+ went away. This is the most frustrating, horrible message app I have ever used. It doesn't intuit spelling and punctuation, often misspelling things and putting punctuation where it doesn't belong when using the voice feature. I often have to spend way more time correcting my voice texts than it would take to stop and type. It never capitalizes proper names. Honestly! It's like a toddler developed this app. When I first started using it, I would get suggestions at the top of the keyboard as I was typing, but for some reason, no longer, so I have to spell out the entire word. It doesn't remember emojis I have used in the past, so I have to go back every time and hunt for the ones I use often. I'm looking for a new app but there are many conflicting reviews of what is a decent app. I would pay to have Message+ back!!!

Install SwiftKey keyboard from the play store it'll solve your keyboard worries just make an account and it'll learn how you use your keyboard and assist you in so many ways including emotes and proper capitalisation highly recommended I've used it for over a decade before Microsoft purchased it.. Ps so many different types of keyboard layouts and everything 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
