Hi,
I wonder, why I cannot scan a NFC while my Galaxy S22 ultra is locked?
I think, this will be a new "security" function for NFC payment function, because I remember this works years ago.....
But it is a big disadvantage for using NFC for Smart Home applications!!
Has this function been disabled on newer android versions or did I miss a settings?
If it was introduced for payment security reason, I wonder if it could be possible to add the function "NFC active on locked phone" or to only apply this security function for NFC payment purpose and not for all NFC usage!?
As a convinced Samsung (Android) user, I had to let a friend (iPhone freak) show me that this works without any problems on his iPhone...., and Apple is also known that they take the topic of security very seriously.
That confused me a lot and I would be very happy if it would also work with my device.
Many thanks

I don't think so. I can't find this option either. I really want this feature!

Have anyone tested Android 15 / One UI 7?
I would also like this feature for use with the Home Assistant app and/or Tasker app.
What bothers me is that it isn't enough to wake the phone (I personally could have lived with that) – the phone have to be unlocked. It won't even work being at the lock screen with unlocked phone. You _have_ to swipe the lock screen away to make NFC work. Not very user friendly.

An update from me.
Today as I arrived at work – I noticed that the NFC works with the door lock system – when the phone is locked and screen is turned on . Checked the app – and there is an toggle for "require screen unlocking to use NFC capability". With this turned off it works with screen on, phone locked.
Verified by seeing the lock icon on the lock screen as I put the phone up against the door lock.
Also turned off Bluetooth to make sure nothing happened through there.
So strangely enough the support for the feature seem to be present.
This was done with the JustIN Mobile app ( com.saltosystems.justin )
