Hi all to who may be reading this im currently trying to fix my s22 Ultra thats been stuck in a boot loop these past few hours
The phone worked fine until about may 20th as this is when the phone kept restarting on its own and booted up like normal. A few days later the restarts were becoming more frequent and wouldn't come back after just the one restart, it constantly kept restarting whether it was hot or cold I tried getting it into safe mode after the restarts and managed to get it in once before I exited out and now I can't even boot it I safe mode I tried to get it into recovery mode and it's constantly stuck in this boot loop. Sometimes I do get lucky and it turns on. Tomorrow im going to trade the phone in for the new s25 but im worried that I won't get any data from the phone onto my new one is there any chance of a little help getting it out of bootloop and making a backup of the data?

I went through the same thing so I know the feeling, so frustrating! try switching the wifi off that sometimes helps and doesn't restart as much.

Hi @HoppoEFC. If you can keep the phone on even for a short while, you'd be able to back up the data. Please take a look at this link on the different ways you can back up your data: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/backing-up-and-restoring-data-on-my-galaxy/

This happened to me as well last night. Started with the phone randomly restarting by itself earlier in the week, and suddenly disconnecting wi-fi. Now it restarted again last night, but got stuck in a boot loop of the samsung galaxy boot screen for about an hour before finally turning off.

I managed to start the phone in safe mode for back up and will try a factory reset.

Did you have any luck fixing this issue? I have the newest firmware, and the issues didn't start until the june 2025 One UI 7.0 update.

I can confirm that factory reset does not solve the problem. After about an hour of setting up the phone after the full reset, the same issue started again...

If the issue persists after a Factory Reset, then it would be worth sending us an Error report for our Software Team to check. This can be done by going into the Samsung Members app > Support > Send feedback > New message icon (bottom right) > Select the category > Make sure you check Send system log data > Tap Send message.

The same happened to me, but I can't send system log data because the phone is now unusable and remains in a boot loop.

My Galaxy S22 started rebooting around end of March 2025. Until then, it had been in perfectly good conditions since I acquired it through my company (Cisco). Excellent speed and performance. It was only until after performing the UI update that it started rebooting randomly.

During April I spent countless hours trying to troubleshoot it:

- I cleared cache partition

- I flashed new image with Odin (keeping data)

- I did a factory reset

- I flashed new image with Odin (without keeping data)

These troubleshooting took me weeks because of the annoying reboot loop. Many times, it was almost impossible to even get to recovery mode.

After 2 weeks, I had to buy a new phone because I need it for  work (work apps, such as internal messaging, VPN and day to day MFA). I kept troubleshooting though.

At some point, when the phone was still usable (sometimes even for hours), WiFi was disabled. After enabling it, the restart loop started all over.

The only logical explanation is that the Samsung OTA Update in March caused something in the HW that prevents the phone from normal operation. Most likely a faulty SW that fried an internal part in the motherboard, probably the WiFi antenna.

I talked to Samsung support, but they are not willing to assume responsibility and they say that I need to pay for the repair because the device is, conveniently enough, out of warranty since October 2024.

This is sad. I own multiple Samsung devices because I really used to like the HW and SW combination that they pulled off. I kind of despise Apple's business model that profits from predefined obsolescence.

I still hope that Samsung has not decided to follow the same path as Apple.

I can confirm that after sending the phone for repairs at a local repair center through the retailer where i bought it, they replaced a faulty motherboard on extended warrenty in Norway. So this is not a software issue, but a hardware issue caused by the 7.0 UI update.

My S22 ultra has been switched off since February when I got the S25u.
Was going to give it to a family member yesterday and it won't turn on now, stuck in the bootloop.
Can't access system recovery mode. Can't power off. Have to wait until battery dies, recharge and try again.
What has happened to it?
Was put to factory settings and mothballed in Feb.
Battery was at 42% when I turned it back on yesterday and somehow this has happened while powered off.😮
