Dear Samsung,

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, once celebrated for its speed and performance, is now facing a significant issue that has made us s22 users become frustrated. A growing number of Galaxy S22 Ultra owners have reported their devices getting stuck in an endless reboot loop. The issue seems to have surfaced following the rollout of the One UI 6.1 update, which was released in September last year.
Users have taken to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Reddit, and Samsung's official forums to voice their concerns with some users report their devices experiencing stutters, random crashes, or freezing, while others are completely unable to use their phones due to the constant rebooting.

Samsung you know there is a problem are you going to help us or not? You have ignored us and let us just suffer so far and people are getting fed up. The frustration among Galaxy S22 Ultra users is growing with many feel that Samsung should take responsibility, especially since the problem seems linked to a recent update - https://news.abplive.com/technology/gadgets/samsung-galaxy-s22-series-stuck-endless-reboot-loop-user...

The lack of acknowledgment or support from Samsung has only added to the users' frustrations (https://news.abplive.com/technology/gadgets/samsung-galaxy-s22-series-stuck-endless-reboot-loop-user... "2")

Samsung .... over to you!

@Chemi5try: Please be advised that we are here to help with any issues that customers may be having with their Galaxy S22 devices. For those affected by any of the problems highlighted in this post, I recommend reaching out to our Support Team via the link below, where an advisor will be able to provide further support.

https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/contact/

In some instances, if the issue cannot be resolved with troubleshooting, an engineer's inspection may be required to bring the device back to its warranty specifications. As there are many different factors that can cause performance issues, a hands on approach is the recommended course of action in order to verify the root cause. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you.

I am not dismissing any of the users that have experienced this issue and I am very sorry to hear that people are suffering this boot loop issue.

Where it seems on forums like reddit and other communities that there are a high number of users... these really are isolated cases of the issue and represent a very small percentage of all S22 users.

Users don't come onto forums to say that they 'don't see the issues' and only come on to say they 'do see the issue'. Therefore it seems to paint a picture there are lots of cases, when the reality is that most users do not see this after the update.

I am sure Samsung will investigate if you send the phone by the correct channels of support for the correct investigations to be carried out.

Unfortunately as you mention sometimes this means going without the phone for a number of days. Many people have a spare phone in a drawer... and if they don't then a friend does and can lend for a few days. If it is regularly bootlooping then surely it is unusable anyway.

You can organise a walk in appointment at a samsung service centre through the correct customer service method. However by the nature of the issue I suspect all they can do in store is try factory resetting and other simple debug. I assume you have done a factory reset ?

I have seen a number of reports such as yours on the forum, and I sympathise. However if you want to resolve it then you need to go through the correct customer service methods and not by the 'fight back' method as your title suggests.

I hope Samsung can investigate this issue and resolve for the users that have reported this problem. If the millions and millions of s22 users, the cases are isolated.

There is also a chance that the upcoming release of android 15 and OneUI7 may resolve the issues... I wouldn't be able to confirm either way but don't give up hope that it will fix soon enough.

P.s. I am just a phone user so please be kind in your response. I have taken the time to respond to your issue during my evening.

I sincerely wish you good luck with this issue.

Hi Smiley,

My point and other users' points are that Samsung knows there is a problem. You can not release a software update that causes the problem, then release one that resolves the issue and then release another one, which takes us back to the original problem. It's Samsung JOB to ensure this doesn't happen, especially when you buy their flagship phone.

If it is the case, a SMALL NUMBER of S22 Ultra users are experiencing this, then shouldn't it be more of a reason to help them? Or is a case of It's only a small number experiencing this so not to worry?

I also think saying most people have a spare phone or a friend does is a little bit of assuming, but I appreciate your thinking behind it. Many people DON'T have a spare phone.

I do like your calm approach maybe you could be our spokes person 😊.

Many thanks

As a user i can understand the frustration. I guess just to add context though, that Samsung have multiple devices to support and a lot of testing to do on each variant.

This update was for the additional AI features and pushes the processing demands much higher. Sometimes it can be related to a particular app that these phones all have installed, or certain circumstances.

As an example let's say all those that have issues now all have something in common that the bulk of users did not. I.e. had not received the previous update or had been using a different launcher from the standard UI. There can be a LOT of things to investigate and when it comes to third party launchers and Google play software then these may not necessarily be due to Samsung themselves. But the presence of an incompatability or a particular app has an undesired effect.

I personally think that the new OneUI7 and android 15 will be a complete reworking of the Android operating system and there is a very good chance some of these compatability issues could go away.

Now, if this was happening to me I would go through these steps... just to check it isn't something that I can control.

Backup my data.
Factory reset the phone.
Don't smartswitch the previous.
Only synchronise the contacts, messages, and photos from Google backup.

Install everything from Google store from scratch.

Avoid any third party launchers and non-samsung software.

And then see how this affects the phone. I would hope that these steps would resolve the issues, but it will take a day or so of efforts on your behalf. To install. To login to everything again. To create new fingerprints and login to banking apps etc. This is just my opinion.

If after all this that the bootloop issue still exists then obviously I think there is a lot more cause for complaint.. and resolution. If I could I would then wait until oneui7 and try the same again.

Just some thoughts. Best of luck

Samsung s22 ultra been in a bootloop at least twice a day but after an hour it comes to life, today it's finally gave up, been restarting for 6 hours now and that is the end of my custom with samsung, I've just paid off the handset and it's now rendered useless, I really hope this problem comes back to bite samsung and nobody buys another "flagship" handset incase in 2 years time you bring out another update that fries the motherboards on them

Absolutely agree with you. It's sad, but the worst thing is Samsung taking ownership of this!

The way they see it is render your 3 year old phone useless and force you to spending thousands on a new handset, I loved the s22, not one problem until that update, I knew it was going today it wasn't even receiving a signal never mind 4g, even if I go for a new phone I won't be able to smart switch everything over, absolutely gutted
