S22 Ultra problems with GPS

When I restart the phone, the GPS is working fine, but few hour later the phone cannot find the GPS signal anymore. Waze, Maps and GPS Status apps cannot find the signal.

On my Galaxy S20+, I have signal all the time.

I have tried to set Location on/off, reinstall apps and even this morning I did a factory reset, but did not work.

Hi, am getting the same issue on my ultra, firmware S908BXXU1AVBF . Also have noticed the location icon glitching in the statusbar.  Have run the inbuilt test app in device care and that says location is working. I run a gps test app "GPS Status" and that is constantly serching for GPS.  Not impressed, may go back to my Note 20 Ultra!

At this stage, I would love to go back to my trusty Note 10 plus, if I hadn't send it in as a trade-in.  Sent my S22 ultra back to replace it early on in the GPS pandemic.  Still waiting, good thing I still I have my S8, get a good two hours of screen time.  Thank you Samsung....

 

I'm switching to an iPhone next year.

Clearing cache did not help for me.

Are you sure it helped for you? Sometimes when I've been testing this (and different "solutions")  I've managed to have GPS/GNSS working a whole day, but then it suddenly stops anyway.

Albo the same problemy with GPS on s22 ultra. Test shows it is ok but gps apps and Google maps are loosing signal. Any cure for that Samsung?

My gps is not working on galaxy s22 ultra. Only works when phone is restarted.

Will you fix it  ?? When ?? How ??

DO NOT REFER US TO PERFORM ALL THE UNNECESSARY ACTIONS AND TRYING TO PUT UP A SCREEN SMOKE  WILL YOU ?!! 

THERE IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE WITH THE GPS ON SAMSUNG GALAXY S22 ULTRA. I HAVE BOUGHT THE 2ND ONE AFTER I HAD RETURNED THE 1ST ONE A FEW DAYS AGO - FOR THE SAME ISSUE ! . 

WHEN ? AND HOW ?  WILL YOU RESOLVE THIS FAULT

What have people done to try to resolve this themselves? Samsung says they are working on a fix but seems like it's taking forever!
But in saying that I'm currently on 2 days without seeing the issue!
I've disabled any automation done overnight such as auto optimise daily option and adaptive power save. I've not enabled power saving mode at all during this time, I've disabled bixby routines and I've also set Samsung find my mobile to on to see if there's a glitch there.

I'm using GNSS viewer to test GPS activity. Seems to work.

Managed 2 trips no issue. 3rd trip it all goes wrong. This is on a factory reset phone with just Google maps on. Restarting google maps updates position but then dosnt change until the next restart of Google maps and then gets stuck again. I can't deal with a phone I have to restart every trip in the hope it will work. Can't return until Saturday, but it's either getting replaced or going for a refund

 . The problem (that I too have) is that after a while, the GPS sensor appears to no longer work - ie applications cant use GPS.  Restart the phone and all is well.

Having read your post, I've just turned off the auto optimise automation feature and will not use power save today.

I use GPS Status and Toolbox, have done since... erm... a long time and very happy with it.

I've installed GNSS and will open it if GPS Status cant see the satellites.
