As i can see it's your first Note device.
A curved display on Galaxy phones offers you a dual-curve phone screen. The beautiful integration of glass and steel, paired with the flowing lines and sloping curves of its design delivers a seemingly boundless viewing experience and holds better in your hand when used over long periods of time.
The curved edges are not only visually appealing but functional as well as they allow for viewing incoming notifications and alerts without drawing the focus away from what’s on screen or when the device is asleep.
Curved displays are available on Galaxy S22 ultra, Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, Note10, Note10+, S10, S10+, Note 9, S9, S9+, Note8, S8, S8+, S7 edge, S6 edge+, and S6 edge.
I suggest you to buy a case protection, like that you won't feel the curves and you protect the sensibility of this wonderful screen.

The curved edges of the S22 Ultra haven't served any benefit with notifications.
They're not curved enough like the "edge" series of devices to show notifications on the side.
The pen is very finicky to use at the edges - it just isn't interacting well with anything on those curves.
If anything, those curves make things at the edges more difficult to see if there's any sort of light source nearby - which is the majority of my day.

I do agree a flatter surface is more practical though.
