about that, i am in the middle of an experiment, and i have some basic results, still not good for sharing, but i have reasons to suspect that the battery failure is related to gps failure. my observations revolve around the statement, that the gps failure, makes the phone to be actively looking to restore gps, and this drains the battery. basically turn off gps, because it is not working anyway, this will mitigate the nattery issue. in the meanwhile, i expect by fixing the gps to reduce batrery use. i neednto have some days with gps on and with gps off to confirm this. take it with a quite large pinch of salt. nothing is confirmed yet.

i have s22 ultra with exynos chip and it just does not find GPS signal in maps, restarted the device it worked for 1-2 days and then again same problem been in this endless loop of restarting the device every couple of days, i have my old device oneplus 6T with me as well it works fine on that at the same time so has to be a problem with my S22 Ultra.

Any suggestions other than restarting as i am already doing it every couple of days

Have you tried clearing the Google map app cache and data? Settings - apps and search maps. I've not had any issues but this is sometime software related.

I agree, Samsung really screwed up this time. I hope they fix all of the bigger issues they have. Even low-end cheapo-chinese phones have adequate battery life, adequate gps, and so on. As for 1200 dollars flagship, the screw up is a big screw up.

this strongly depends on many things, and most youtubers cannot be simply trusted. As much as i don't like the seniors evading the truth, by doing this showing disrespect to us paying customers, it is true that most benchmarks are simply synthetic workload. it is true that they give us a base guideline for performance, these videos should not be a reliable information about performance. the fact that a youtubers shows how the phone is setup can be a clever  montage, of settings done after the fact but edited before the fact to look authentic. Such edits hurt the reputation of honest youtubers, who present the facts honestly as they are. Be careful which youtuber  you trust and which you don't trust.

I went and checked which apps were set to 'never sleep'. My home surveillance camera system was one the culprit. Ever since I've removed it, battery is superb. And I still get the notifications as I should so don't really understand why the surveillance app asked me to put it in the 'never sleep' exception list. Try to check which ones consume the battery.

I have the same problem. Samsung has to fix this very quickly. There will be a transition to Iphone if this is not fixed immediately.
