New s22 ultra delivered 25th Feb . All set up but experienced an issue with frozen lock screen. Had to hold down to power off but no warning of powering off. Not done it since but slightly worrying.

So I've sent some error reports and got a response now:
Hi! We have received your report and we have checked it out.
We're aware of the issue that the phone freezes after unlocking it with the fingerprint. The fix to this issue will be applied to a next maintenance binary release. Thank you for letting us now about this problem. Please keep your device and apps up to date.

Happened to me for the first time just now, on the phone I finally got yesterday. I got a WhatsApp message notification, so tried to turn the phone on to view it and it froze - didn't show the fingerprint icon. After about 20 seconds it appeared, but I couldn't use it, still frozen until it finally came up with "One UI has stopped working". Closed the message, submitted the report, and it's working now.

Had to manually look for the new update, trying it now. Will reply in a week if it helped or not.

Since the update I've not had it full freeze but I have had the lock screen loading slow down, with the fingerprint scanner icon appearing like loading a picture in the 90s using dial up.

The update worked for me, when unlocking out of standby it does freeze for a milisecond halfway the fingerprint animation and then it pushes through and contineus to work normally.

Same here. The freezing seems that it went away, but there is indeed a lag on the fingerprint/ lockscreen animation

To be fair, still not good enough for a top in the range phone..

Yes the issue for me is finally fixed after the update. This by far has been the most annoying bug I've had on a galaxy phone ever, but our long nightmare has come to an end!
