New s22 ultra delivered 25th Feb . All set up but experienced an issue with frozen lock screen. Had to hold down to power off but no warning of powering off. Not done it since but slightly worrying.

I've had it freeze twice on lock screen now since it updated the other day.
First time I ended up doing a force restart with power and volume down key. It has done it again a moment ago but came back after 30 seconds a minute

Have you received the most recent update @vmax1989 , @Hystrix
If this continues then one good generic troubleshooting tip is to clear the phone's system cache files. No information is lost this way.
Https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to hook up to a Computer or insert your earphones to enter into recovery mode.

Yes. I've got the latest update. As I said, it did it after the update. It hadn't done it in the couple of days I had the phone before the update.

OK @Hystrix
If it happens again please consider using Safe Mode to see if it stops.
Https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ will help to highlight if an app or theme etc is potentially causing issues.
If it's intermittent then this could point towards an app , theme issue etc.

I do understand about it being a new phone but if a phone is misbehaving after an update then old files left behind/ collated can cause issues sometimes which is why cleaning the cache is one of the 1st steps @vmax1989
