I was looking thru my S22 menus and wanted to lookup my imei status when (and drat it, I was jotting down my steps) when I saw that my phone was no longer the default device. I re selected it as default and the lockups have no occurred this week. However this week, all incoming calls suffer dimishing volume until I can no longer hear the caller, and this takes place I. 2 to 3 minutes..

I was not jotting down my steps. Sorry, it seems my touch keypad layout is bad for my fat fingers.

Hello, I have the same problem with samsung galaxy s22+,
when someone calls me, I opened it and only the incoming call is blocked and then it restarts.
Has anyone fixed what the problem is?

I have recently installed new sim card. Call quality is better as well as the mobile data connection. Since the replacement of an old sim, I havent had an issue. But its only a week from it, so I am still testing it out. Also I havent had my watch 5 pro connected from sim replacement. If it last at least a month I will start using my GW5 and will see... Maybe if anyone of you have an old sim or using GW 5 pro...try to do the same and tell us here if it helps...

About 2 weeks ago I was going thru my S22 setups and noticed (sorry, I didn't write down the steps I went throught) somewhere while checking imei status that my S22 had be "dislodged" as default device so I restored the S22 as default device and haven't had this particular issue in the last two weeks. However I now have the problem of the caller's volume decreasing over a few minutes until I cannot hear them so the S22 (basic model) is still an expensive paperweight unless I can discipline myself to keep all calls under 1 minute before I can't hear the caller.

Same thing, S22+ 256GB Exynos, tried clearing the cache, nothing helped, did a factory reset and it is still happening. Is samsung really not gonna acknowledge this issue?
When i receive a phone call the phone freezes and then reboots itself, and it is happening more often now...

Is there a risk that the phone will break completely after a while with this problem?

This was happening to my s22 since new. Clock would stay at 00:00 when answered a call. After some time (30 sec) the phone will reboot.
I eventually got a new logic board under warranty and but this also seems to do the same. It has only happened once since I got the phone back (in 3 weeks)
FYI it is the exynos version of the S22. It takes 2 days to restore your phone to where it was so I am being forced to make do with this fault until more people report it. Repair shops either dont believe you or / and are limited by what they can do to fix.

RESOLUTION (at least, temporarily until Samsung or Google get their stuff together):
-Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Background usage limits > Deep sleeping apps
-hit the plus icon and select Google Fi > click Add
-Place a test incoming call
