S22 ultra Crashing and restarting

Hi everyone,

For the last two weeks, my S22 Ultra has been crashing at random times and keeps on restarting automatically. Yeah the S22 Ultra is the Exynos version.  It happens when I try to open even Youtube. I have turned off the Auto restart setting as well. After going through the initial Samsung logo, it restarts for like 5 to 6 times (or even more sometimes), then the One UI apps optimizing opens up and the restart completes. But this crashing happens randomly. I tried clearing the cache memory, but that did not help. Finally, I did the factory reset. Still, the problem persists.

Has anybody got the same problem? Does anyone have a solution? Is my ultimate solution to visit Samsung Care Centre?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Sudip

I've seen comments blaming the March update for the entire chaos but I had already updated it in September. Happened first time on Friday, thought nothing of it but its a continued problem. It's (conveniently) out of warranty and none of the tips have worked for me so I would recommend opting for a new phone if possible. Apparently the newer ones don't have this problem, but I'll be turning off auto-updates just in case.

Hi everyone,

I faced this issue for about 1 week on my S22 ultra. So I tried all the usual steps, factory reset, safe mode etc. (as discussed in this thread) but nothing worked.

Finally i uninstalled the Gemini AI app by Google followed by uninstalling the Google app (which took the Google app to its earlier version), followed this by signing out of my samsung accout from the phone (as the samsung cloud was also not working since this problem started) and thereafter restarted the device. After restarting my phone, I logged into my samsung account again.

Now the phone's working fine (its been a day).

Will update if this issue reappears. All the best.

Hi,

To update, for two days the phone worked perfectly no hiccups. But today my WhatsApp crashed and it sent my phone into a restarting loop (4 times) and heating it extensively. Thereafter, I switched off the phone for about 30 mins.

When i restarted the phone i saw 2 apps (one a system app called wifi provisioner and another called ezviz) had failed updates in the playstore, uninstalled these apps and reinstalled them.

Its been about 10 hours since then and its behaving normally.

Fingers crossed, Hope it lasts.

Will keep all posted.

All the best.

Looks more and more like a planned obsolescence from samsung. My s22U started a month after warranty ended.

Any updates on this? Or are well all still buggered unless we pay the price of the phone for a new motherboard? Same issue for me happening goof few months (seems to align with alot of your experiences)

In the bin unfortunately mate unless you’re willing to fork out for the repair.

I switched to an iPhone 15 Plus and realised what a rubbish phone the S22+ was.

Hi, the problem still persists. But only one crash per day on an average and it's just restarts once after the crash. The phone is normally usable otherwise. One precaution I am taking these days is that whenever I notice the phones getting hot I go to device care in systems and hit optimise to clear all background apps.

I think there's still life in this phone.

All the best.

Mine only started working again after I took it in for repair and got the motherboard replaced. No issues since.

Hi Guys, Last two days phone has been acting normally, no more crashes. I guess the app responsible for the crashes has been fixed by way of an update.

Will update if the problem appears again.
