Does anyone else have issue where the camera refresh rate is very poor so led lights flicker very badly to point if I'm indoors with any led lights (which face is is everywhere indoors) it takes awful pictures.. Like THIS bad in the photo. Does it in expert raw as well. Unless I REALLY fiddle with the settings.

Oddly the Samsung members diagnostic has no fault, and also Samsung in twitter said to try *#0*# and text mega cam and show a screenshot. Again.. No lines or issues. They said try to do a reset as they can't see issue with the service tests meaning its likely a software bug. But a reset has not done anything (by reset they mean camera app settings reset)

Anyone else having these poor issues? As now I wish I didn't post my s20 plus back but had to due to being trade in.

(note x10 zoom has NO issues. The 0.6x does show similar but not AS visible)

It's also worse if I pan the camera side to side but can't show that unless I screen record. It does it VERY slightly in videos too but photos are just so so bad!

(1tb s22 ultra, UK)

Excuse the angle I don't like showing off my living room while it's a mess spring cleaning and wanted to have a white background to show the issue more.

This is something that happens with all digital cameras. The frequency of the electricity supply is 50 hertz here in the UK and only way round it is to use a different frame rate while filming
Same when you see on car shows on TV. The lights flashing on the cars. Just the frequency of the led lights
Sometimes certain types of led lighting is worse than others.
All you can is use a diffuser on the lighting or change to incandescent bulbs. Taking a photo or filming further away from led lights as well may help.
Using a mirror to reflect the lighting to the subject as reflected lighting helps spread and scatter the light to help stop this as well
But all depends on the type of led lighting

The problem is that LEDs oscillate at a slow speed. The human eye doesn't see this but cameras do https://photographylife.com/light-frequency-issue/amp

Never happened on my s20 or s9 or s6. But it doesn't just do it in my home it's doing it everywhere I go. Also how come they come out fine in Samsung members diagnostic test and the #*0#* camera tests? It only happens in the camera app and expert raw (well any app that takes a photo) but if I x10 zoom it's fine

Yes I'm aware of that but my s20 and s9 and s6 phones all managed to take perfect pictures as it would "match" the leds. While my s20 no matter where I take pics.. If its indoors it looks like that (because everyone uses led lights)

Even Samsung on twitter when I asked said this should not be happening. Especially if the x10 lens is perfectly clear (only happens in the x0.6 and.x1 but as soon I go x10 or more it stops

Which ones? Do you mean the camera teats? If so all of them come back crystal clear. It only does this if I use the built in camera app or expert raw or even Instagram etc. But the tests all seem fine and don't show any lines

Also if I use the camera test in diagnostic I get no lines at all as the camera matches the led frequency. But if I use any app like the built in camera. It does that.. Unless I use the x10 zoom lens then everything is also fine

You will find the last couple of generations of cameras in some Samsung phones have upgraded hardware
Larger aperture software etc. Probably why it's noticeable on the newer cameras. The cameras are producing better low light images now, and with the more light gathering, it's going to pick up things like this.
If its the same bulb after all those years, it's probably reaching the end of its life.
Dimmer switches at certain settings really show this effect up because of the way they work
I used to get it on my other Samsung phones. My Note 10+ used to get it quite badly until I changed the bulbs
Diagnostic tests won't pick up anything unless there is a fault
If your using scene optimiser, maybe try turning this off.
Play with the camera settings and find a setting to help resolve this
My DSLR cameras I have to play around with to try and eliminate this effect or use extra lighting

By diagnostic test I mean this.. The camera looks fine and everything it only has the lines when using camera app. But using the diagnostic and looking through the camera has can see has nothing. (while in camera app no matter where I point it shows the lines but diagnostics where it opens the camera shows everything just like the s20 did. (as for the bulbs the living room one is 4 months old the hallway are about 6 months my bedroom a out 12 months spare room 2 years but even if I go to restaurants and shops it's all the same... Unless I take screenshot using the diagnostic test and then crop it... Then it's fine. Screenshot_20220428-203554_FactoryCamera_45640_1651174554.jpg
