I got it One UI 7 update that everyone was so excited about. Now, my S22 repeatedly overheats and restarts. It has done so four times while I was typing this post. Will Samsung even acknowledge the issue in question? If Samsung lets an $800 phone get bricked without customer error, and without providing a solution, it WILL drive users from the Samsung device ecosystem. I can deal with adjusting to the changes that come along with UI updates, but I can't deal with a phone that broke itself without my input. There were an additional three restarts, for a total of seven in the time it took me to type this post.

I've not had any other issues with this phone the entire time i've owned it. But, I actually didn't show up for someone to tell me i'm not having an issue. There were an additional three restarts while I typed this post.

Most of the time, a simple soft reboot fixes this issue. Hold down the volume down and power buttons until the phone restarts.
Attempt clearing cache partition?
Worse case backup data via smarthings to a pc' factory reset.
Further issues contact customer support (this is a customer to customer forum)

Hey Samsung team, are you are still intending to make formidable phones or you've chosen the Nokia way?..

My Galaxy S22 started rebooting around end of March 2025. Until then, it had been in perfectly good conditions since I acquired it through my company (Cisco). Excellent speed and performance. It was only until after performing the UI update that it started rebooting.
During April I spent countless hours trying to troubleshoot it:
- I cleared cache partition
- I flashed new image with Odin (keeping data)
- I did a factory reset
- I flashed new image with Odin (without keeping data)
These troubleshooting took me weeks because of the annoying reboot loop. Many times, it was almost impossible to even get to recovery mode.
After 2 weeks, I had to buy a new phone because I need it for work (work apps, such as internal messaging, VPN and day to day MFA). I kept troubleshooting though.
At some point, when the phone was still usable (sometimes even for hours), WiFi was disabled. After enabling it, the restart loop started all over.
The only logical explanation is that the Samsung OTA Update in March caused something in the HW that prevents the phone from normal operation. Most likely a faulty SW that fried an internal part in the motherboard, probably the WiFi antenna.
I talked to Samsung support, but they are not willing to assume responsibility and they say that I need to pay for the repair because the device is, conveniently enough, out of warranty since October 2024.
This is sad. I own multiple Samsung devices because I really used to like the HW and SW combination that they pulled off. I kind of despise Apple's business model that profits from predefined obsolescence.
I still hope that Samsung has not decided to follow the same path as Apple.
