Evening guys.
So a couple days ago I updated my phone, unlocked my phone to do so, the update went ahead without issues, on restart it asked me to put my password in, told me it was wrong, time and time again, same password I've used for 2 years.
I'm in a discussion (argument) with Samsung, incredibly I'm apparently the only person to have this problem according to them. A quick Google search disproves this but just out of curiosity has anyone else had this happen?

I just experienced this issue: after updating my Samsung phone, it no longer recognized my password even though I entered it correctly.
To fix it, I force shut down the phone by pressing and holding the Power + Volume Down buttons until the screen turned off and the Samsung logo appeared. After restarting, I entered my password again, and it worked! Hopefully, this helps someone else.
Normally, pressing and holding the Power button lets you turn off your phone. However, if your phone is locked, it may ask for your PIN to power off. In that case, force shutdown is a safe option that won’t harm your device or delete any data. It’s a built-in feature that shuts down everything running on your phone.
Steps:
Press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons for about 5 seconds.
Do not release the buttons if a system menu appears.
Keep holding until the screen goes black and the phone turns off.
This will force your Samsung phone to shut down safely.
