I need to do a soft reset on my phone. I've plugged my wired earphones in and pressed snd held down the volume down and power button and it just keeps restarting my phone. How can I soft reset my phone without doing a factory reset.

Hey there

You need to connect your device to a PC, laptop or other Samsung device to enable a Wipe Partition Cache or access the Recovery Menu.

Thank you, Well that's new. Used to have to plug in wired earphones and do a wipe partition cache. No wonder it's not working.

Yes, it changed in either 6.0 or 6.1.

Makes sense. I'll get it plugged in and do a wipe partition. I'm still on 6.0 so would make sense it was 6.0

A soft reset? That's just turning your device off and on again. Are you sure this is what you meant? However, the method you've already tried and where the phone restarted is the alternative way, which is just as effective. A "hard reset" is akin to a factory reset, where all data is lost.

I mean a wipe partition not a turning off and turning on. I don't want to do a factory reset and lose all my data.

Using wired earphones and pressing power and volume up still works for my 22+
