Media from Chrome will not play over lock screen, even with widget

I have a new S22 Ultra.  Media from Chrome browser will not play over the lock screen.  I have the media widget, all permissions are enabled, but the media widget will not start playing the Chrome webpage media after turning back on the screen.

I used this functionality every day, 5-10 hours per week, on my Galaxy A70.  Unfortunately that phone's USB charging connection failed, so I bought the Galaxy S22 Ultra.  Everything was great until I discovered that I'm missing this key functionality that the A70 had!!

When I start playing media (a video on Rumble) in Chrome, the media output player shows up when I swipe down.  Everything seems good.  But when I turn off the screen, the playback stops.  Then I turn on the screen and I can see the music widget with proper labels for the video, but the controls do nothing.  The music widget will not work for media on a Chrome webpage.  TOTAL FAIL, SAMSUNG.

Please do not give any answers like above about Spotify or other services.  These mean nothing to me.

Please do not mention the Rumble app.  It is not available where I live.

This is standard functionality that was available in lower phones and previous versions of Android.

FIX IT SAMSUNG!!

For anyone interested, this worked:

My Chrome was set to 'Optimized' battery.  I changed it to 'Unrestricted', and now it plays in the background as it previously did on my earlier handset.

I guess since Samsung advised on this setting, it wasn't Google after all?  Imagine that.

That's not Samsung but Google rather. On YouTube that's a premium paid for feature (play in the background)

I agree that problem lies with Google, you can't blame Samsung.

Reading is fundamental.

1.  I have a YouTube Premium account.

2.  This is Chrome, not YouTube.

3.  I clearly stated that it used to work on the A70 but no longer does.

Other than those points, your comment still offered nothing.  Try harder.

Interestingly enough, Samsung Internet browser allows this, via 'Background Play' in 'Useful Features':  the media widget appears on the lock screen, it's fully functional and the media on the web page continues playing.

This used to work on Chrome but no longer does.  The media widget appears but is non-functional, and the media stops playing.  So did Google disable it?  Doubtful.

Did Samsung previously allow it, but then realized they could enable it only for their own browser?  Huh.

It wouldn't take much for Samsung to respond to this post.
