For ages in forums I've been long pressing at the bottom of screen which brings up the Google ai bar and to the right a translate button.

Today the translate button is missing and I don't know why. This was so useful to translate foreign text on the screen. It even worked when the text was I a picture.

Does anyone know how to get this back?

If you use Samsung keyboard then you should see one there. If not press 3 dots and add it. My Google Assistant translation button is still available too.1721476936503_1721476936494_0.jpg1721477029185_1721477029181_0.jpg

Hi, the keyboard isn't involved here. When viewing any foreign text on screen, I'd just long press at the bottom.

Google bar with Google lens would pop up and a circle to the right which was the Google translate icon.

It's this that disappeared.
So now I'd have to use Google lens and take a picture before translating anything

Google Assistant has now moved to an upward swipe from corner of screen. Try it. You'll find the translate button and lens feature. Long press on home button is now circle to search, but even that shows the Google bar with lens and translate button (see screenshot)1721477526956_1721477526950_0.jpg

it' wierd that the translate circle on the home button still works on my tab s9 s per the pc posted but on my phone it's gone. The swipe works at least but I'm still curious as to why

Hmmmm, still there on my S23U. Maybe a Google setting?

The odd thing is that I didn't do anything and to my knowledge there wasn't an update.

I looked for the setting for the home button long press but couldn't find it.

The usual apps> default apps route is now just for the corner swipe.

I think I just replied to your other post regarding circle to search.

For the translate button try
Settings>general management >Samsung keyboard settings>Translation. Toggle on Google
