I installed today the GOS update. After install I rebooted phone and also wiped cache.
Before update my Geekbench result was single core 1181 / Multi-core 3524.
After update Single core 662 / Multi-core 3584
So single core result halved. I tought this update should have improve the performance but it did the opposite?!?

Setting this to max would give me the geek bench mark scores I had previously with the new update so I would actually say, Samsung is throttling the benchmark runs now rather than not due to this processing speed optimisation setting. I would have hoped there was a better way of disabling this per app basis just to give me peace of mind.
I also agree with a few posters here, if this was going on for years and people didn't even realise, then what are we really complaining about? It's blatantly obvious that a cpu cannot be run at full all the time and there needs to be some optimisations, and what I gathered is samsungs's crude implementation of this is simply not good enough.
It's a hard balance these tech companies have to make. With battery tech remaining stagnant and more and more features and computational magic each generation is introducing there needs to be better optimisations of which I think Android should do more to help out on.
Sorry I didn't mean to go on for so long! 😁 Rant over. Samsung please sort it out so I can have a phone that can last well into the next day!
